Pool Shock in cloners for 100% success EVERYTIME.

I've been reading about adding this pool shock to your cloner. Everywhere I read people were getting 100% success even newbies at growing were getting great results. Are growers still using this method in their cloners for success. The mixture is 1 gram of pool shock/ gal of water. This is your shock solution. The same if not better than clear rez. Supposedly???. Then add this in the rez at 3ml/ gal every 3 days. This is supposed to be the holy grail of cloning. Is this still being done and with the same results. If so then my cloning days will get a lot more fun.

How are you measuring a gram? Just be a scale? - Hows everyone else think of this? I am very interested.

To be honest I very rarely use cloning gel anymore when cloning.

I cut my clone, 45angle the cut, split it up the middle about 3/4", strip off some fans plant into presoaked rockwool and into my propogator. Mist the propogator lid rather than the plants and I have roots between 7-9days.

Never heard of it. I wouldn't think it would do anything but hurt, then again I've never done it so definatly cant say anything bad about it. If it's true, you learn something everyday.

I'm not using the hth pool shock. I'm using aqua chem pool shock plus. It active ingredient is sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione. This chemical oxidizes in water to form hypochlorous acid. I think this is roughly the same end result. My product leaves extra salt behind (very little) where the hth shock leaves access calcium behind. Same result a very clean res

Do u guys think the aqua chem will work like the hth . No problem I will just go out and spend 4 bucks on the hth if need be. I'm not a chemist but both seem to do the same thing. What does RIU think?

Why would you need the shock in a cloner?? I use an aero cloner. The longest I've ever run it at one time is 2 weeks.. After that I throw a cup of bleach in it and let it circulate for a day before I drain it and put it away..

Guys I do believe thtat hth brand of pool shock is the brand u have to use. Its one of the few brands of shock that have the active ingredient calcium hypochlorite, which, from what I understand, fresh cutting love this and it makes them root extremely fast. So anyone trying this method in their cloner be sure to get the hth non buffered pool shock.

Got me some hth shock yesterday. I emptied out the reservoir and refilled with 2 gallons of water and 6 ml of shock juice. I wonder how long it should be before I start seeing roots.

Triazinetrione in it? What would the recipe be to mix it?

Pool shock is a very generic term not only does it usually cover at least 2 different chemicals but in varying potency levels , and many have anti-fungals to keep the water clear

Read The Labels Hypo is the same chemical in household bleach only bleech is 3-6% depending on brand and country pool shock can be up to around 78%

Right now at this time of the year pool stores have great sales on the stuff, 1 place by me (island rec.) usually has 10bags for 10$ this time of year , they also carry a brand that C Hypo is the only active ingredent at 78% (I think)

Carefull with how the stuff is stored years ago it was known to start fires by people leaving the stuff in the garage overwinter and the bags outgased enouth to react with stored gassoline and _FIRE_
Even in a sealed bag It will eazly corrode steal/metal thru the bag , try to store in glass or plastic

no pool shock here and 99.9999% success for the last 2+ years in my aero cloner

I do ph 5.8 my water and change every 7 days.

non PH'ed tap water only in aero....100%

I have been using a shock solution in my hydro for about a year and a half now. Its been working great, keeps everything nice and sterile. I only recently built an aero cloner, and it has plain tap water in it right now, but I won't hesitate to give it a splash of the solution when I change the water.
