Well, thanks again for all the great advice you all have given.
Just got back from the evening walk and decided to just pull them and not leave a note or anything else. I agree with all of you that say that it's probably not a good idea to let these kids think that I'm cool with them growing anywhere near my property. I'd rather just leave the impression with them that the land is not as secluded as they think.
A funny twist: upon pulling the plants I realized I was doing these kids a favor anyways.
The clones weren't even rooted! It looks to me like fresh cuttings were just popped in the ground and buried half way up the stem! Damn kids need to learn
several lessons, it would seem ...haha.
I also decided to keep them because they've been so mistreated. Now I gotta nurse them back to life and actually root the poor little things. I got them going in one of my bubble cloners now.
I can picture the series of events that led up to this in my head.
Kid 1: "Dude ...my uncle said we can take some clones off of one of his plants and do whatever we want with them!"
Kid 2: "Dude that's SICK. I heard you can just put them in the ground and you'll have TREES in 5-7 days!"
Kid 1: "Dude there's this open field off to the side of the road here, let's bury them!"
Kid 2: "Dude the way I figure, all the helicopters that fly overhead will provide much needed airflow for our plants. Jorge Cervantes always says that plants need airflow!"
Kid 1: "DUUUUUUUUDE!"
Long story short ...I got 10 free clones of undetermined prominence. Probably freaked out some kids too. All-in-all not a bad day!
Thanks again for everyone's advice. It's greatly appreciated.
