Thank you! I came here for the same info. Everyone I know is trying to tell me how hard it is to make H. I'm not trying to do that, I'm trying to get opiates from it. I've read about poppy tea and other tincture to help with chronic pain from lupus and back injuries. I live in MS where laws should be criminal so I'm trying to figure something else out. I've been trying to just grow the damn flower for a year. I have a grow tent, lights and still nothing. And articles are all over the place with this topic. I'm trying to have everything grow in the tent bcuz it's either an oven or a freezer here and WAY too many bugs and critters who keep getting in my way to grow outside. So I really appreciate the info.Short hours of light , like 12/12 for veg and longer hours like 18/6 for flower.. the opposite of cannabis basically..
You'll want deep pots or deepwater culture set up for poppies.. the like to send their roots deep.
Any hid light will work for lighting..
Exactly - that's another reason I'm trying to do this in a grow tent. After I get this down, I can grow other things in the grow tent, but poppies have been the hardest to start and survive. Right now I have some in replant-able pods in my tent with what I thought were grow lights. Misting to water them and zippo.I grow poppys outside and they seem to be an aphid magnet. Keep an eye out.
