Portable AC

When I went to my local hydroponic store they told me I would definately need a portable ac unit if I used a 1000 watt air cooled system in the appox 5'x4' walk in closet. Is that really neccesary? Now I'm thinking 1000w is just too much hassle. Maybe a 600w.

your gonna need some "cool" air from somewhere......just moving average temp air will heat up that closet pretty fast. if you have an ambiant temp of around 77 or 78 degrees then you might be o-k,but more than that and you may need that cooler.

if you already have central AC in the house, or a good window AC unit in the room attached to the closet, you don't need an additional AC unit in the closet or room. If, however you have no other source of AC it will definitely be necessary. That is, unless you have a MONSTER inline fan and your outdoor temps never get above 65-70.

In that size of area with 1000 watt, for sure your going to need VERY good air circulation at the very least. 600W even throw off a decent amount of heat. Can you vent into an attic or do you have some kind of way to draw in fresh air?

Now i'm thinking about using a 600 watt but I will be in an apartment so I can't vent out. I can draw in fresh air though of course.
