portland oregon outdoor grow

My praying mantis egg has hatched and I now have lots of little assassins roaming freely :) Also started to build some support cages and the stems are getting really thick

Nice!
For the sake of the preying mantis, try having one per plant, if you have lots try having two per plant, the strong one will survive, but bunched up they will eat each other.

how often do you fertilize and what are you using? I like your thread and will be watching i'm in seattle with my first outdoor grow after many years indoor.

I haven't fed anything yet in terms of nutes....i take that back...u did just feed maxsea 16-16-16 this last week...other than that just soil(white lightening mix)

Jacb...Your girls will love the MaxSea. I'm down the gorge 60 miles or so east of you, I use native soil with EB Stone planting compost, and rabbit poo and feed MaxSea once a week, and blackstrap molasses once a week (when I remember). 7 of my 9 plants were really sic and light deprived. It took a full month for them to rebound.

Lookin good oregongrowpr
Have you topped or thinned your plants. I've been thinning out by bushy plants and trimmed the lower 1/4 of the plant and with the rain we had yesterday and today. I'm hoping I've trimmed them enough. We've had 1/2 an inch today.. That's twice our monthly average.. Shades is last September!!
