Wondering what the positives and negatives are of using a HUGE c02 tank and releasing it into the plant area for like 2-3mins...

What negatives will it have if any....

And what positives.would like to kno more :)

CO2 directly effects the output of your buds. The only issue is it isn't really helpful until your plants are bigger. Think of it this way, adding CO2 to a baby plant is useless because it can't breath enough CO2 in to use everything in your growspace. Once your plants are flowering, you can use CO2. You need to remember that the more light you have and the more plant matter there is, the more CO2 is going to be taken by your girl to produce big buds. If your plants are too small or there isn't enough light you are wasting your time with the CO2.

Air tight(ish) room and turn the extractor fan off is your best bet. You can let your temps go up to 85 maybe 90F so don't worry to much about the rise in temp when the fan is off. No temps above 90f tho even with CO2 added.

If you really want to benefit from CO2 use I would recommend using an air cooled light with ducting starting outside of your grow room and exiting outside. This way you can seal the grow room and any CO2 you are using will not escape. You can get yourself some decent kit for monitoring and regulating CO2, without spending the earth.

Oh and when used properly you can expect an increase of up to a 3rd in final weight. :weed:

awsome thanx :)
1 thing my fan isnt extracting it blows air in..so shud i leave that on as it will be even more c02 in the room?

Um, no extraction? What lights are you using and wat temp is your room?
yeah no extraction fan.just a fan blowing fresh air in from outside..the pipe leads to outside so its nice kool air as its winter here
unsure about the temp.but its not boiling up there.but its warm enough. and the plants havent once had a problem of droopy leafs or nute burn.seems pretty much perfect

Well your CO2 levels are going to be pretty good, if the air is coming in directly from the outside. If your going to use CO2 efficiently then your room needs to be sealed, so basically instead of having air coming in from outside, you would have CO2 coming from the bottle.

The thing is, by the sound of it your room is kept cool by that inlet fan, if you switch that off your gonna have problems with heat. If you keep the fan on then any CO2 you add will be quickly diluted, so that would be pretty pointless.

You can try and find a happy medium. This may be an option, but is by no means the most efficient. Turn the fan off and time how long it takes, for your room temp to reach 85-90F. Say it takes 20 mins, well then you know you have a 20minute window to add CO2. Put a timer on your fan, and set it to go off for 20 mins every hour. Set your CO2 to come on for 15 mins, as the fan goes off. 5 mins before the fan comes back on, have the CO2 go off and repeat this as often as you like throughout the day.

Pretty good idea :) i think im going to have to do implement that into my next grow :) as at mo ive got like 2-3week left of this 1... but willdeffo consider your idea :)

and yeah the flow of c02 is pretty good..the c02 was free like so cant realy hurt me to spray extra in.as im not wasting any cash :D

Like I said tho if you want to get the real benefits you need a sealed room. Get a cool tube or similar product and have ducting running from that inlet fan, which will be perfect as it is directly from outside (Lucky Bugger ;-)) and run some ducting from the other end to exit outside of the room.

I should imagine your temps would be fine but you could get a thermostat and even a humidistat, but I wont go into that now.

So now you have an airtight(ish) room at optimum temp. All you need to do now is add CO2. The last CO2 kit I bought cost me just shy of £100 and it would monitor and regulate my CO2 supply for me. All I had to do was set my desired CO2 level and that was that. Easy ;-)

Here's the release Kit. I cant find one cheaper :?

If you ring them they will talk you through setting it up and should throw in a free CO2 test kit.

If you want absolute precision control than they have a CO2/Fan controler for £215, which believe it or not is quite cheap.

It is not at all necessary to fork out that much tho. You will get on just fine with the release kit. And bear in mind you can recoup the money you spend on this in one crop.

(I should be a CO2 release kit salesman ;-))

Good luck!
