Possible options after accidental mutilation

So in my carelessness while defoliating near the top, I end up accidentally tearing the crown off of the plant (see pic for exact result of the remainder of the stalk).

I've attempted to move the crown (almost instantly) into a new pot as if it is possible to clone it. Obviously this pot and soil was not prepped beforehand, but is composed of light soil & perlite. I added some rooting powder in the hole for contact, and watered till moist. Now the pot is soaking in the sun on the roof.

Maybe someone can shine some light for me on some questions:
  1. Is my plant dead forever? (If yes, I'll cry)
  2. Is the crown a suitable appendage to clone?
N.B. I have never cloned before, nor had time to research (I assume) before doing this. The plant was in Week 6 of Veg, and started showing signs of gender about 7 days or less ago.

P.S. Unless evident by now, I am an amateur grower. This is one of my first plants.

Soaking in the sun on the roof is where you fucked up at. fyi

The 'mother' will be fine. Like Bernie mentioned, too much sun and too much heat for the cutting. Think incubator,

The main plant is fine, you just gave it a massive top haha! Just like the others said, put the piece that broke off inside a humidity dome. Keep them cells turgid boi

Pull that top out of the soil, stick it in a cup of water out of the sun and see if it perks up. If it does then try and clone it using any of the various cloning methods.

Thank you. In regard to the brutal topping she just received, will she grow back from the stem part or from the remaining top near the rip? As for the attempted clone, I hadn't seen this thread in time and well, she is surely dead. I will prepare myself with cloning knowledge henceforth.

Also is mention that I should incubate, but only have access to outdoor growing methods, could you share a resource that may help me?

Yeah, two new nodes should sprout where the stem is cut. In my opinion its a good thing! Search humidity dome and tray and how to clone outdoor on youtube.
