well like I've never seen anyone else make them, but I figured since THC is fat/oil soluble, it can be extracted with oil.. Sooo I use 3-5 Table spoons of vegetable oil/ gram of grinded bud in a pan and heat it at a pretty low temp with the grinded bud... It should be ready in 10-15 min./gram (or when buds turns pretty brownish) Then, I filter the oil and seperate and dispose of the buds and repeat the process two more times with the same oil.. (I do it by eighths).. Obviously, relative to how potent you want it.. Then, let the oil cool off in the fridge for a lil bit and insert it into empty capsules with a plastic syringe.. jus pop em all day haha

I like it harry. How many caps from say five tablespoons? Fifteenish? I bet they're pretty potent... Have to add that to my repertoire!

Well depends on how many times you do the whole thing and how many tablespoons you use per gram.. if you do it once with like 4 table spoons and squeeze out all the oil possible from the buds, you'll get like 12ish/gram.. you just tweak the recipe to your liking..

One thing to watch with the oil/gel caps is leakage. The oils tend to dissolve and or weaken the caps very easily. Lecithin oil also does the same, even with thick heavy duty caps. I have seen recipes on this site for canna caps quite a few times already, just check the cooking or medicating forums. Thanks for posting though!

So here are a couple pics of my next harvest Im figuring another week or so till I chop. (mostly cloudy trich's with a hint of amber)
3rd harvest.jpg

everything has been going well with my plants with one small hiccup, I started to flush with just plain water and I got one plant that absolutely freaked out on me.

The plant looks burned but I dont know why.

I also know how much you guys like closeup shots so I did my best with my camera to take some decent pics.

so heres the next question, Im growing the same strains with the same soil and nutrients as I did for my first grow. first grow was seed these last grow were from clones off the seed. The buds just dont seem to be getting the same dense colas I had from the first harvest. I dont know what the difference is. The only things I can tell are the light is on the light mover now covering both sides of the room. Aside from that maybe temp flux? I would really hate to think my earlier successes are more then just a fluke.

bulb has been running for about 4-5 months at this point. plants are slightly higher this time too..but not overly stuffed in there

fellas, sooo today is gonna be the last day of week 6 since I switched them to flowering. The website says they finish in 8 weeks. Should i start flushing now or should i give them nutrients for like 4 days or soo.. idk.. what do you recommend?

Did you basically double your light coverage area when you added the mover? If you have the same amount of light covering twice as much space I could see that making a difference in bud density.

Light rails will do that. The plants are not in direct contact with the light as they were before. Can cause them to be more fluffy, I lowered my light to increase lumen intensity and that seemed to help a bit for getting them to tighten up. Also sped up the speed so as to not burn the tops of my plants. Just my opinion, hope it may give ya some ideas.

Indi! Your back!
Andy- LOVE THOSE CLOSE UPS!!!!!! No idea about the lack of density... Hybrid vigor, or rather a lack there of? Maybe? But the rail thing indi said sounds plausible...
Something new for y'all here in a few.. as soon as I get my lazy ass outta bed :)

Weird stuff right there, are you doing a pure water flush, or partial nutrients?
Your room looks awesome though, always makes me jealous.

BA - what is the PH runoff compared to the others? looks like she either had a sudden burst of nutes burn the shit out of her (from flushing/unlocking) or the PH got way out of whack. also: the rail will decrease main weight from the plants that were previously directly under the stationary light, but spread it out and increase a little weight from the ones that didn't get as much direct/intense light. overall, the decrease should be less then 10-15% when comparing #s. but top end buds should be better overall. and what Indi said - you can lower the light a LOT closer on a mover and increase lumens to the plants. making sense, or am i too high to articulate? lol

Good info here. Those plants looked like some of mine that I accidentally toasted with my own homemade blend of 'super soil'...oops. (EC has seen the damage) :( Other than that theres alot of nice tops going on there!

One thing with the light rails, seems that lowering it would be beneficial, but also try increasing the run cycle if it has one. The plants are used to the light coming from one overhead direction and now it S L O W L Y moves across them...try speeding that up...alot. That way it would be kinda like a cloudy day but still very sunny, if that makes sense. The rail would not take so long to return to its starting point of origin and the direct overhead light would be more prominant to a degree.

Harry-

2 weeks left? How is the runoff? Clean water from here on out may be good idea, if you think they are that close. Those leaves looked like they still had alot of green in them to me so the plants are very happy and healthy...you want the plant to use some of that up if possible.

@MG, well they're in DWC buckets sooo theres noo runoff.. For the same reason, I think it will take less time to flush them because the water doesn't have to go through soil or anything. Soo idk.. and I have 2 phenos of Purple Wreck soo they should be ripe at different times, but I haven't gotten the scope to check out the state of the trichomes yet.. soo lets say full flush =1.5 weeks in DWC, with a +- .5 weeks (ripeness depending on pheno).. will it make a difference in yield or taste if I start flushing now or just give them nutrients for .5 more weeks? (all this assuming the 8 weeks flowering time mentioned in Reserva Privada's description)

- ohh and should i pH the flush water?

so the first week of 12/12 is completed for the chocolate rains. The one i thought was male is definitely a male i put him in the corner of the tent, he will stay there until hes about to burst then ill move him and collect some pollen.
That is him sitting in the corner

and then we have the two females

Oh yea I picked up a green planet nute pack at the indoor gardening expo and have been testing it out on these 3 so far I am really impressed.

I second Indi's statement. I'm running a 600 HPS and 400 MH in a Growzilla hood on a light rail. The hood is air cooled so that it never gets hot. I keep it about 4 - 6 inches above the canopy with no problems.

Hmmmm Chocolate Rain x Italian Chocolate :D I think your on to something Uro :D
Also i just rotate my plants around every few days might not be as good as a light rail but i think it makes a difference
