Pot size for 3x3 tent

Just started my grow. Using fabric pots. Can’t decide if I go 3 gallon or 5.

I want to flower at least two in my one tent and then want to veg 4 in my veg tent.

Both tents are same size. Can I get away with 5 gallons? I wanna transplant once into the 5 gallons.

if you train them right, you can maximize that space with 2 plants in 5g pots.

4 plants in 3 gallons = less training
9 plants in 1 gallon = no training

i veg in peat plug, solo cup, 1 gal, transplant to 5gal 1 week before flower and leave it at that.

Yeah why not. I start in peat plugs, then Solo cup. 1 gal. Then to 5gal for a few days to a week in the veg room and then move the 5gals to the flower tent.

That’s what I do anyways

One advantage of 5 gallons over 3 is less waterings. Good choice.

Smart pots are a new thing for me. I grew back in 2008 and the stuff available wasn’t nearly as good or crazy as we have now. So I decided to do a fresh grow with basically a brand new style. Pots. Possibly leds. Etc

Hey man, me too. My last grow was about 10 years ago and I used an HPS light, grew in coco and used Advanced Nutrients on an automated dripper system. Now, I'm still in coco and using a dripper, but am running LED with different nutrients. The biggest change IMO in the last 10 years is the number of hybrid offerings. Literally thousands of possible strains to grow.

5 gallon are the way to go. 2 fit comfortably in my 3x3 and with a little training they will fill the tent nicely. I got nearly 250 grams off the 2 plants and it was my first grow ever. Surely more can be had.
