pot size questions

I started out using blue party cups. then switched to the 2Liter black buckets, weeded out the males and females and the biggest females i switched into 2Gallon black buckets, so i have a mix of 2L and 2Gal . im about 35days into flowering and the growth flat out stopped. i know i should have gone with a bigger pot size but will this affect my bud growth? on my next grow i will be using 5Gal buckets during flowering for max growth but will i be ok to finish out my grow using what i have now? thx

heres my setup so you all can see. the tallest is about 40 inches.

you should be okay by the looks of the vid. next time, give each plant a gallon of root space for every foot of growth u want. if u have a indica variety pot size will be smaller since they dont grow as large as Sativas. with a sativa you would want at least a 5 gallon pot. ive found 3.5 gallon pots work great in my situations.

Yup I never start plants in less then 3 gallon pots.3-5 work fine and give plenty of root room.

i guess my first time grow is my learning curve . ill still get a good amount and it smells like dank sugar cookies in there mixed with baby shit. haha. next time ill start with 2L and move up to 5Gal. im at day 40 . how much longer or what signs do i look for when about to finish up.

I've been growing in 5 gal buckets lately, after moving them from 1.5 gal buckets due to root binding. It takes a lot of work to get them back on their feet. Just out of interest, after you harvest check out the root system and see how cluttered everything is ... assuming your not planning on revegging and flowering again. Good grow though; plants look like they're sitting pretty sassy

Most strains seem to like 7-9 weeks of flowering, but the general rule is when 3/4 of the trichomes on the bud turn a deep red or brown... this gives you more of a body buzz due to the breakdown of thc into cbd, which means if you harvest earlier you usually get a more uplifting high from the bud. Keep in mind though that, as I have been told, their is about a 2 week window for harvesting in most strains. And save them leaves, crank out some grade A hash!
