Second grow. 3x3x6 tent LED light, have 4 Big Bud girls that I just topped. My first grow I used 5 gallon buckets drilled for drainage. Problem was that my plants + bucket height got me close to the lights very quickly, can I go to a smaller (3 gallon) container without hurting plant growth?

You can buy wider containers. I use a squat 7 gal for just that reason

I hear ya problem I have same issue , but the tap root needs a lot of room or so I believe. 5 gallon pots are great to use for roots but I hear ya for height.... LST and topping would help with height as well as a scrog screen....... so the real issue would be sativa because they like to stretch tall.

Where did you get the squat 7 gal from and how tall are they? I just got a Scrog net so I'm sure I'll have lots of questions about training.
