yeah, she was consuming something at a rapid rate-must have been N which is acidic which would cause the ph to drop which would cause salt buildup after a week of adding enough ph up-which is a salt I believe, which locked out my k.
damn, everytime I address another issues on RIU it is not long before I have the same issue. without fail. everytime.

hey chuck, you say you empty your res once a week but do you rinse your roots as well? sometimes a new res is not enough to remove the salts from your roots. I am looking into clearex but for the time being, I lift the gal out over a clean empty pail and spray with a spray bottle a very very diluted nute mix, salt sticks to salt, and give em a nice bath once every 2 weeks.

nope but i will flush with clean water once a week to clear all that out, now that you tell me! i will do it for an hour with clean water cause i do have a white residue build up on my rocks now that you say something!

you should use a very diluted nute solution as this will remove alot more salts than just plan h20. salts stick to salts so it will carry away more than reg h20. what bloom nutes are you using and what are the NPK ratios?

bra, do you think this guy should add some p and k? the k def is pretty quick developing.
Well, not sure actually. However, the p and k would be put back in after a res and root cleansing, by refeeding them, ya think? Once the salt build up and ph are corrected the plant will begin to use nutrients again, think? Pondering all the possibilities, mmmmmmmmm now.

flora nova grow 7 4 10 with a 1900 ppm
I just finished a bottle of Flora Nova (flower food) and had used it for all 6 of my grows, and i seriously think that the flora series causes salt build. I started with hydro had salts on my rocks too, went to soil and had salt there too. For the next grow venture Advanced Nutrients will be the menu.

u sure about those ppm's? 1900 is kind of high unless they are 6 foot plants. I wouldnt add anything. in fact it is prob contributing to salt buildups. i never go aboe 1100-1200 and only have it there for 2 weeks tops.

well i will never use fox farm again how is your experience with that
Never used them, but there are many folks here that do.

i used that in soil and it kept on burning my plants
Had problems in soil as well. The flora tea's are like watered down mud. I don't think they mix well even after a good shaking there is still gritty stuff left in the bottle. It is tough to get a good even distribution of food everytime with flora mud. Just my thinking on the whole flora stuff. I also have some Canna 2 part for vegging plants, and there never was a problem with the girls until flower time with the Flora Nova and everytime, looking back and my hind sight tells me this.
