I think that would depend upon how well your light penetrating the canopy and how your plant is structured. In my opinion, the best chance for a uniformly potent plant would be a mainlined plant that has good, evenly dense lighting. Sometimes when harvesting, I'll take the top tops and let the rest go for a few more days. It seems the extra light and time really frosts the bottom. I have no way of testing potency other than the old eyeball test, so maybe it's all anecdotal.
