Pots

What are the main differences. Can you help with the to do's and not to do's I have never used it I have been reading up on it
With coco you need to fertigate daily(at least)...that's food and water. Since coco is inert you have to supply everything. It's almost impossible to overwater...that's the big difference in how they're treated.
Coco will out preform soil with all other things equal....in growth rate and yield.

Thanks for your advice.. it's very much appreciated.... !
Do you need to wait after watering before planting. Or is it straight in with the seedling.
And do you feed from day 1.
Im glad I can get advice and and people are willing to share their knowledge. Thank you

I only used them once and didn't think it made any difference if anything they weren't as good. And only time I've ever had fungus gnats. Their hardy little feckers and a twat to get rid of.

I plant the seeds directly in the coco in solo cups.......no paper towels or soaking. I use a 50/50 coco/perlite mix and I start feeding to run off daily starting around day 3 or 4 from sprout. I transplant to a 2 gallon pot after 2 weeks........and that's where they stay.

I add water to the soil and then wait at least 24 hours for the soil to become evenly saturated before planting seeds.

Seedlings don't need feeding right away they have all the nutrients they need stored in the cotyledon leaves to get started. I wait for them too become established, maybe one or two sets of true leaves, before I start feeding.

I have experience in this subject. I have found Air pots 5 or 7 gallon or knock off air pots actually out preform all others in an indoor grow. better grows and final yield over and over. Over time I have moved to the simplest by nature. I start in styrofoam 32 oz cups because they work best on seedlings. Even better then airpots of that small tiny size. I cut the strofoam cups on each side and smooth transfer to final pot. I dont do multiple pot upgrades...NOW I am actually testing one plant with a 20 gallon pot to see the results-thru one grow yield much better but it needs a fan on the pot to dry it out between water with very few knats.
