Powdery mildew got one plant bad.. how do I make the most of it?

Hey folks,

it’s harvest season and I discovered when chopping one of my last plants that it got hit pretty bad with powdery mildew. Some had light mildew on leaves but this one mildew advanced into the buds somewhat. Wondering if I should attempt to cut out mildew here and dry? Or trash? Or possibly cut out mildew as best I can and use this whole plant for bubble hash? (Not sure if that would somehow be safer to use than smoking as buds) I’ve attached some pics. Let me know what ya’ll think! Hate to waste ripe buds

Do a wash on the buds, in buckets, one with h202 and one with potassium bicarbonate then have a couple to a few more plain water rinse buckets. Then use it for bubble hash. Or some other concentrate.

Google helps sometimes.
mix 1 part milk to 3 – 5 parts water.
Spray solution on your infected leaves. Check the next day, then spray twice on second day, wait one day if still around repeat. Spray solution on your leaves and buds. Check the next day, then spray twice on second day, wait one day if still around repeat.

milk did a much better job than H202 and a little better than Apple Cider Vinegar.
Read a horticulturist from UC Davis paper on using all three on plants.
The study claims that the enzymes in milk kills mold spores. H202 does not kill spores, just knocks it back.

You would think since milk spoils it would be bad.. but that can be washed once the pm is broken up.

I think the worst of it for me was the white residue that resembled PM. I haven’t noticed any other negative affects. Organic gardeners have been using it for years on cucumber, melon and other mold susceptible garden plants.
I sprayed a 30/70 mix.

Milk does work guys but he was already harvesting the plant. At this point he needs to wash it off.

Yep. At this point the plant is ready for harvest and it’s pretty much a last ditch effort. I don’t think there is enough time for a few days of spray and repeat.

There likely could be time.... But he should've read the post, reading helps sometimes.

If this were my grow, I would do the recommended wash on this, there are plenty of people who dont care much about wpm all through the grow, they just do the final wash afterwards and that takes care of it.

You could spray WPM down with 3% h202, you could use the milk solution in grows... But if your cutting the plant today, the best option I see would be the 5 gal buckets and washing.

Try bubble hash as you mentioned above, then scope your product to see if all the mildew has floated away.

That's a lot of mildew to wash away in a bath, the mildew is in the buds now.

I had a bad plant last grow and I baked it at 140F for an hour to kill the PM, then use the bud only for making coconut oil. Stomach acids take care of the spores.

Im harvesting my Wedding Cake Friday-Saturday. It rained yesterday and today supposed to stop and get sunny Tuesday PM And be nice the rest of the week, so I’ll spray Wednesday AM.
But yeah, if you’ve harvested you should do the H202 wash.. it’s helped me in the past.
