Powdery Mildew? If so, is the entire plant gone? Can I cook with it?

Harvested two plants early because of powdery mildew. Used Doctor Zymes on my remaining plants and thought I had gotten rid of the mildew. Just started cutting one plant and it looks like there's mildew at the bottom of some of the buds. Check out pics.

Can I just cut it out?
What about the buds that don't look like they have mildew?
Can I make cannabutter out of the buds that have mildew?

I’d say yes just cause the sugar leaves do IMO give it an h202 bath and trash your trim. From there it’s gonna be a personal call imo

That looks like both budrot and mildew. I'd cut out all the brown stuff and then dip it all into a h202 bath to kill the spores. Looks pretty gnarly.

I grow for my wife and my friends, and don't want them smoking something that could harm them. Cannabutter is fine if you're on the fence.

Yes it looks like you have both pm and bud rot. I have read that pm is not recommended for people with asthma or compromised immune systems however it is not a deal breaker. Yes it should be avoided, but it does not ruin the plant. Just remove the parts with visible mildew. You can cook with it and make bubble hash, but I wouldn't use any infected material.

Bud rot is a different beast, and more serious. There are two types, the systemic kind--and if its that kind the plant should be tossed in the trash. Even if you don't see other bud rot. If there is fuzzy white mold looking stuff inside the brown area it is systemic. Anything with bud rot is unsafe to use for anything.

Can't tell for sure but yours looks like the 2nd kind of bud rot--the kind that comes from caterpillar poop. That kind just kills where the poop lands. Look in that brown area and see if there is tiny brown. insect poop. Hopefully there is and you can just remove the affected area, and the rest of the plant should be fine. Good luck!

Get yourself a jewelers loupe or a handheld microscope and it will be very easy to tell the difference between trichomes (you know what they look like…) and powdery mildew (looks like a layer or web of fuzzy filaments).

Unfortunately, I agree with the others who said that bud has PM and bud rot.

Thanks for all of your help! I had a feeling bud rot was going on. I'm planning on getting a jeweler's loop. What is the tell tale sign of the bud rot? Two plants are basically gone. I think I'm going to toss them. I have two more plants. This one looks a little more promising. What do you think?
