Power consumption?

So a thought struck me....

"How much power does my computer use compared to some lights?"

I have a custom built computer with a 1000 Watt power supply. I'm curious how that 1000 watts compares to say a 1000 Watt grow light. The reason I wondered is my computer room gets really warm if I close the door and the window for any length of time.

Is it same-same? Or is there a difference? Can I shut down one of my non essential computers and turn on some lights and still have the same power bill?

do you leave your comps on 24/7 ??? if yes i can tell you that if you turn them off your bill will shrink a good 10 to 15% a month not to mention if your comps are generation that much heat you are more than likely running a fan or air conditioning to counter the heat that they are generating good luck

my server is on 24/7. But it's a small lower power system. My main computer uses a lot of power. In fact i think I've seen the neighbors lights dim when I crank this thing up and they live a mile away. LoL. Gotta love country living. My only access to the outside world from time to time is this damn computer.

lets hope i see nothing good coming of a president that has no opinion on any issues
and has won all his past political offices by default {obama } for crist sake i dont even think that biden really likes the guy either. he just wants more spotlight so he can spew his outlandish opinions and views on a bigger stage
