power outage, Please giive advice

my power went out for 3 hours at 5am until 8am... i run my lights 9pm-9am(12/12).

Would it be better to leave the light off until the next night at 9pm, or should i kick the light back on for an additional hour , then turn it back off and keep it on track?

i would just continue with the light cycle, a couple hours is okk, there was a bigg storm cloud LOL

are u talking from experience? have you personally been through this? or are u just making a nub comment to sound educated on growing?

also, i have read that having the sleep time being hotter than the light on time will cause hermes and mess up flower. I run my lights off during the day so yes , my plants get hotter during there zZzZz time. I havent seen any problems so far, but just curious cause i read about this a few times.

Next time if you notice this, dont let that 1 hr cycle happen shut it off for it(8-9). Then just continue with the normal cycle after. I believe it confuses the plant which can stress. I have switched between day and night lighting, midcycle and did this with more night than light. Im def still a noob to this take what i say with a grain of salt.

ive never heard of having the temps being hotter during lights off than they are doing lights on doing anything negative.. that is the way i like to run my lihgts, on at night when temps are cooler and off during the mid day heat, and have never had one issue doing so..
i had the same problem a month or so ago when our power went out for a few hours, so i just left the lights off till it was time for them to come back on again, at which time i just turned them on again at their normal time..

if a plant is prone to hermies then sudden changes in light schedule could bring that out. Time will tell on that one.

As far as flowering, just stick with your normal schedule. It's not the 12 hours of light that make it flower, it's the 12 hours (or more) of dark. Increasing the dark time will not change the flowering status, it will simply mean the plant is producing less sugars so growth will be slower. If it's only for a few hours for a night it won't make a difference. Think of it as the plants having an overcast day

well hopefully everything will be alright, cause i let the light go back on for an additional hour, then i turned it off at normal time 9am....

Next time i will just keep the light off when this happens.

right on racerboy, yea i read about that on a forum, not sure if it was this one or not. So far i have had no problems. I used to run my lights on during the day, until i realized and asked myself why ami doing this , when simply i can run my lights during the night. Which means i dont hit 100F at 4pm.

Im sure they are fine, just watch close. And thanks gobbly you said exactly what I was going for in much better description.
