Power Problem

I have 2 - 26w CFLs and 2 Fans connected to a power strip. Each new plug I plug in slows the fans and dims the lights. Do I need a more powerful powerstrip? I want to plug in my other 2 CFLs but the power just goes out after that lol.

Do you have a pic of the power strip? Does the power just go out to the strip out to the whole room or area?

You definitely need to spread out your power...power cicuits are only designed to handle so much wattage per breaker, so to speak. Branch out or you could risk a fire via a circuit overload!

P.S. I work in residential construction, framing, plumbing, electrical, you name it.

That's what I was eluding to. Most circuits can handle 15 amp. If he's running air conditioners, refrigerators, or something larger that might be tripping the circuit. I can't see CFL's tripping the circuit unless he has a crappy extension cord.

I switched outlets and everything is running smoothly. I guess a treadmill, refrigerator, and TV is enough for 1 outlet lol. thanks for the suggestions
