Power strip cfl fixture - need help! How to hang?

Hey guys,

I've built a cfl Fixture using a power strip, plug adaptors, Y spliters, and 6 26 watt cfls. They are secured to the power strip using zip ties.In essence it's the same as the one in the link provided.

I am looking for a way to hang this fixture horizontally and also looking for a reflector in the realm of DIY. This is a closet grow 5 ft wide 6 ft tall and 1 ft in depth.

Thanks

i got a similar setup you wanna get some zip ties rap them around the Y splitter then around the surge protector THEN you wanna go to home depot or lowes get some really small chain and some screws you can use to raise and lower it

get twice the length of your grow room TWICE so 6ft grow room youll need maybe 14ft just incase

then put the chain threw the zip ties on the back of the surge protector and rap chain around something and hang um use the screws to raise and lower them

and it holds your bulbs in and everything tightly so no worrys of the bulbs falling off etc.

sorry about the wall of text... im baked :bigjoint:

I personally don't use a reflector............maybe I should however........Those fixtures are sweet! I've been using clamp lights and using a splitter or two on each fixture but I really like what you guys have there. What are the plugs called for the socket for the bulb?? I haven't seen them at the local lowes or homedepot....... I'm sure I could whip one of those up real quick if I could find the socket.

Good luck

Right on concord I've actually been following our thread and saw you reflctor, that what I'm goin with unless I can find sonewhere that sells Mylar in qty's less than a 60 ft roll.
Seeds germed tonight just put them into party cups with baggies over them. Unfortuantl I may have traumatized them cause only a few minuter after a fan fell over and knocked them all on the sides... I think it'll be fine though

I used a cardboard box and wrapped it in tin foil. its nice because its free and you can easily cut holes in the top and sides for vents/ fans if you need them. just rigged some shoelace and use that to raise it... super DIY and you can do it with next to nothing...:bigjoint:

Here ya go, 1 "ghetto-fabulous" turkey pan light fixture, LoL. My grow shows how to make it, works great. Just subscribed also, keep us updated and good luck.
Later.
Yep .untill the foil starts making hotspots
foil is the worst thing for reflection:wall::wall:
:o

I cashed in loose change and got a 8 inch duct and zip tied the power strip fixture(s) to it then just Hung it with 2 shoelaces I'm pretty crafty with knots so I tied it to be easily adjusted. So now I have a 8 inch duct reflector with 2 power strip cfl fixtures for a total of 12 26w 6500k cfls and plnty of room for more
