IMO, DONT USE POWER STRIPS! From a safty point of view you would be much better if you had an electrician come in and run new outlets. I ran new wire from the breaker panel with a 20amp breaker direct to the outlets. I have two four way boxes which works perfect. Also, the first outlet in line is a GFI outlet so if something should happen that GFI will pop and save the day. I just feel that power strips and extension cords can make for weak electrical points.

Be careful with power strips and extension cords in general, the only time I ever had a power strip fail was the one hooked up inside my grow closet. I happen to be home when it failed, everything in my house started flickering and then there was a loud pop, flash of light, followed by a horrible burning smell. The power strip ended up melting, thankfully it blew the house fuse. I now only plug in directly to the electrical outlets, one cord per socket. Not trying to scare anyone, just be careful.
