powerdy mildew

Ok, have a problem, apparently one of my bag seed plants (a good producer) is susceptible to PM...one of the clones that was switched to flower 2-3 weeks ago has shown it on quite a few leaves (i sprayed the affected leaves with water, turned off fans and removed, washing my hands after each leaf) im debating on just culling the plant, and harvesting the older one about 2 weeks early and only having the strains that have not started to flower yet (better strains anyway) and treating them with what follows in the picture atleast untill bud sites start really building.....

Any input from anyone who has dealt with PM successfully before would be awsome.

Damn man. PM is so the worst. I think you're best to play it safe and cull the plant. PM lives within the plant and so it will keep coming back and spreading. There are ways to cure it, but even then it's just a maybe. I've never had it spread to plants that are treated properly with Neem. I also haven't encountered it since I stopped bringing clones from other growers.

I'm unsure about that Mildew Cure product. The website doesn't explain much about the way it works. I'd go with Einstein Oil myself. Neem is OK as a way to treat symptoms, but as a preventative, it's actually pretty bulletproof

Thanks for the input and advice...what sucks is i dont think i can use neem on the plant thats about 2 weeks out from harvest. :cuss: And it has had 4 or 5 fan leaves showing PM.

:finger:PM

Rough bruh. There are products that use other organisms that feed on the mildew. They are safe to spray until harvest and don't effect the flavour. You have to keep spraying though, and the moisture from that in turn promotes mildew, so it's a band-aid solution, and will not prevent the mildew from spreading The other option here is to use the plant that is almost ready to make bubble or blender hash. The mildew will wash away in the water. The hash will serve a special purpose: daytime smoking. It will be slightly less potent and quite uplifting. Great for days when you wanna get lit but have stuff to do. That's what I'd do. Instead of losing a decent plant to mildew, you're gaining a very useful extract. When life hands you a lemon, cut a hole in it and f**k it! Don't smoke mildewy buds. Even if they're clean-ish, remember, PM lives within the plant.

In India where Neem was invented and is widely used they do not use near harvest. I would cull any I suspected if I had more plants even near ready for the room. But clean the heck out of the place before any more plants go in. A lot of threads here on that.

Reading your posts I think you have good instincts. You should do well.
Thanksthe plants that havent quite started to flower yet im assuming since they have showed no signs of it i should be able to treat and try and make them through, clean everything else i can in the mean time?

Begin the Neem immediately. It is a preventative and not a pesticide. But clean the hell out of the room the PM was in and everywhere else. Also to people bringing in clones or plants from the outside - one word for you: QUARANTINE!!!!!

Im hearing keep the humidity under 40% and allow light to get through to as much of the plant as you can, as few shaded areas as possible, which also happens to help with air movement through and around the plants
