PPM 3 problem, please help!

All,

First let me ask my question, then I will promote my grow journal.

I have a PPM 3 CO2 monitor. It works, but every so often it doesn't shut off my regulator like it should when it reaches my relay. I have it set at 1600ppm. I have walked in there and it read 9999 many times, so I manually close the valve...has anyone else had this happen to them with a PPM3 monitor? :cuss:

OK, my grow journal is under Organics, titled My Shizzi.

Seriously, no takers??????? The damn thing drained 50lbs of c02 within 5 days....This can't be keep happening.:wall:

where do you have the meter transformer plugged in, and where do you have the cylinder cord plugged in?
If the meter transformer is plugged in to a timer, when the unit powers on it leaves the valve open until it warms up. This has freaked me out a few times befor myself. Also, your co2 regulator could be leaking.

I have the monitor transformer plugged into a 8port surge protector. I then plug my regulator solenoid power cable into the monitor piggyback.

I just walked in and my ppm are at 4000 and I have the relay set at 1500...wtf?:blsmoke:

If you unplug the selenoid and don't shut off the bottle, see what it does........something else.. if you don't have the regulator turned pretty low the ppm will go way high before the monitor sees it.

I have a hydrofarm cosys20 regulator. I unplug the solenoid and it still runs, this shouldnt be, there is no power, how could it still run?

WTF! just a plain old timer is better than pissing all this money away....i just want it to work like it should:twisted:

regulator is bad. i know it suck just had to replace one. You have the expensive part, and it is working. just get another regulator sylenoid setup.

This is my second regulator and the same thing happens. they run with now power to them, cant be a bad regulator....i might try a totally different regulator my other grow store sells.

My buddy gave me his regulator and its working with my ppm3 like it should. Shutting off at the relay point, etc.

For some reason the COSYS20 doesnt work correctly with a ppm3 monitor.

This has been confirmed from the manufacturer. PPM3 and COSYS20 will not work together. The solenoid freezes in the open position. Which is what was happening to me...:wall: learned another lesson:dunce:...
