PPM/EC Question

I grow in soil, using well water that has a ph of 8.2. My question is if I get a ppm check from say a local hydro shop I would guess or assume that the ppm/ec of my well water would remain pretty stable. And I could get by without buying a meter myself. Any thoughts? Cheers!

yea I imagine that your waters ppm would not drift too much, but don't you need the meter to know what the ppm/ec levels you're feeding your plants after you add ferts?

This depends entirely upon the source of your groundwater. Aquifers can experience changes in Ph/PPM's as a result of seasonal variation. Spring runoff can significantly affect water quality. My advice would be to spend the cash and get a meter. In this case, it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I prefer not to play guessing games when it comes to this sort of thing, and in order to give your plants the best chance, neither should you.

I would rather buy a ppm meter myself because they are not expensive and a must have for all growers.
