Could some one explain ppm …my water ph is 6.5 ppm is 244 I test run off with plain water 350 I mix a solution 1300 ppm with ph 6.6 measure run off it’s at 650 now with 6.5 ph with that example am I doing this right is it getting what it needs to little if any thing !? So like run off 500 ppm. Nute solutions 1300 run off after nutes 800 is a good example of doing it right…so if run off is higher then ppm of nute mix it’s to much food and if number is lower then nute mix after water it’s really hungry ??? Seee why I’m all fucked up hahah

It’ll depends on how much the plant uses and also how much you let the coir or whatever dry out.

If you let it dry salts build up and the next run off will have high ppm.

As long as you’re on top of the stuff you’re putting into the plant you should be fine.

That link in post #3 has a lot of good information on ec and environmental effects on it, it would take years to learn or observe what that covers.
You should give a thorough reading, create a short cut to it for future reference, it's a nugget!

Does it apply to soil even though it’s “meaningless”

I mean, sure if you measure your runoff and it's super high or something, that would obviously be an indication of overfeeding, but it's not like measuring runoff from an inert medium.

You’ll also find that most people in soil don’t feed with every watering. Soil holds onto nutes. So “nearly” straight water with the ph set right will do for a couple days. Also how often u water will depend on pot size. With small pots you will need to water more often. I check anything under 5 gal every day.

I gotchya man just trynna figure out some problems I’m running into go figure just when the getting gets good I trip

well first off the bat two weeks in I gave a light dose of fox farm trio in soil half dose plants acquired Burt tips I backed off for a week or so and then yellowing occurred so put them back on feed every other feeding light doses ..yellowing increased slowly people said up feed so I have done that last two feedings but plants tips r blackened and yellowing traveling from top up bud growth is still noticeable …I’ve heard from one person saying magnesium deficiency and cal mag but I feel like those r often a go to answer here are some pictures

Are you feeding at the 1300ppm you mentioned in the first post? Is the medium staying real wet, or are you allowing dry cycles?

My instinct says they could be locked out. They obviously got a little nute burn at one point, and now I would estimate they aren't properly absorbing nutrients which is causing them to yellow from the top down. Typically if they are hungry they will yellow from the bottom up. Lockout can happen for a few reasons, temperature, excess nutrients, excess wetness in the root zone preventing the roots from performing their functions correctly.

I always wait till the pots are light before feeding !! I just watered 1300 ppm this round usually around 900 wanted to see if it would make a difference ..temp is around eighty I have hooked up duct work to the ac and is about 75 now ..so the lock out will completely stop growth?? because day by day it presents noticeable growth or with excess nutrients I am significantly slowing down bud production ?

I have sledge hammer wich is a flush solution I really just wanna flush and start over butttt how risky would that be seeing how I’m this far in flower

it won't completely stop growth, but it can slow it and present as a deficiency.
