Get a local water quality report..or send out a sample. My water is .4ec ( appx 200ppm @500 scale), 7.6ph. I run whatever the bottle I'm using says and don't account for my tap..then I adjust ph. Because of our local water reports, I know it's mostly calcium and magnesium, with some sodium as the big 3 in my water..so in my case the water acts as a supplement, most people add cal/mag to RO to get around 150ppm or so..I'm already there! I just started using Advanced Nutrients "PH perfect" connoisseur line ( I managed to get a friend who raves about this stuff to buy it..it's too rich for my tastes..lol). supposedly no more ph/ppm checking, their formula, supposedly, increases nutrient availability across a wider ph range and also ph balances it self, to a degree..we'll see. 200-250ppm is usually when people start looking into RO filters, but again,it depends on what the 200ppm is. just remember you may need to supplement Cal/mag with RO..that seems to be the biggest issue i see people having with it.

I live in Canada, overall our water is good. So I should not add my water ontop of my PPM.
I use a PPm and lucas maxibloom formula.
I will be getting an R/O regardless soon enoiugh.
My humidity is fine now but have alot of extra water in there to keep it around 50-55

I don't want to say one way or the other on whether you should include your taps PPM without knowing what's in it. I know what's in my tap so i know how to handle it when mixing. IDK where in Canada you are but Google a water quality report for your area..here's a link to Toronto's..it's pretty in depth

That looks like a list of only contaminates..I see paraquat, vinyl chloride and glyphosphate, arsenic etc, but no nitrogen, potassium, magnesium etc. Maybe try asking in the Canada sub forum of medical? Wish I coulda helped more.

I don't use tap but when i add cal mag to my ro i don't count it. Always add about 200 ppm of camg in ro every time you water, then add nuets. If i want 600 ppm base it ends up ready 800 cause camg. You don't need a humidifier. With good ventilation all it will do is add a couple% to it. A cool mist can lower your temps slightly in a small area though. My rh is regularly 25-35% and i like to keep it below 30 during flower. I feel like it increases frost. a dehumidifier would be a better idea the rh can get up there when lights are off with lots of vegetation

I use 24/0. My humidity is 40% usuially and I am in veg.
Thanks for the help will keep that in mind.

Seeign as veg should have around 50-70 and im at 40%.

I know flower is lower as it helps with issues and no bud rot.

Apriciate your comment.

I include the ppm of the tap water. Whatever the ppm # being displayed, that is the real number. Tap water under 200ppm is usually good to use, over 200 is iffy and over 300 I would never use.

I always add calmag to my tap to around 300 total including the tap water and then I add the base nutes. If I want 600ppm then I would add 300ppm of base nutes.

Never subtract your tap water because it IS nutrients of sorts. You can get a "water quality report" from your local water distributer which will tell you exactly what is in your tap water by ppm.

IMO, good tap water is much better than ro water in hydroponics.

This helps me greatly!.

No problem! That's really surprising that there is 0 calcium in your tap, mine is mostly calcium and comes out of the tap at about 100ppm (very good water which was surprising because the last house I lived at had 340ppm tap and the water was terrible.) An easy way to tell if your tap has calcium if it's hard to find the water quality report is put a little water in a big metal mixing bowl and let it sit in the sun until it evaporates, if there's calcium it will leave a white residue on the bottom of the bowl.

Good luck in your grow bud

Np i know everyone says 50-70% but i have never saw issues when it wasn't in that rang. I got a journal going right now and my rh has been 40 or less from start.check it out

you may not see any issues at 30-40 rh

so is that saying its better than 50-70 ??

there's an optuim rh level for cannabis something to do with the stomatas opening and respiration..... The lower the rh the less they open ...... 30-40 is not going to kill your plant but it will benefit from higher rh .

weak info here buddy .

"""". I feel like it increases frost."""

i feel like ??? Well does it or doesn't it ?

not the best info to follow trippy and im sure others would agree.

iv just had to adjust my rh due to change in seasons weather and it was 40%

40% not going to kill them but thed benifit higher

iv got it up to 60% :)

god luck

show me issue from low humidity i have never seen any. I'm giving my opinion through experience of what i have seen. My rh is always in the 30 % range with no problems

I'm telling him not to waste money on a humidifier that's not going to do shit. If you have decent ventilation it won't do shit. A fan speed controller on the other hand might help
