Alright so I'd like to start by saying I'm NOT taking this too seriously, I'm NOT trying to grow high-yielding plants or potent buds, just trying to go through the motions once mostly for fun. I spent no money so far at all, so I'm not worried about any return on any investment.
One night while very baked I germinated a handful of seeds in a cup of water, they were ready to go after 2-3 days (can't remember now), and I threw 2 of them into the only setup I had. I don't own any lights of my own, but I'm currently occupying mother's house while she's away for a few months. I used Sta-Green soil, which already has nutrients in it (not sure at the time if this was a good thing or not). I had read that's its best to start with an even NPK ratio in the soil, but I was just using what was laying around (.13-.04-.09% if you're curious). I water purely based on whether the soil looks/feels like it needs it, and I only water a little at a time. I also give the babies a spray once in a while. This is day 13 and from day 1 these two sprouts have only been under 2 40w Floro Tubes and they're in a window so they get daylight too which I'm sure helps a little.
Today I moved them downstairs right under a 4x40w system in the ceiling, two of them are Daylight and two of them are those warm aquarium tubes, so I figured I might as well put them there, and these lights are attached to a timer in the wall so that's nice. I hoisted them to within a few inches of the lights. I think I have some pics on this computer I will upload when i figure out how.
Again, I just thought I'd share this with you guys, I don't mind advice but I don't want you to think I'm being very serious with this...if I was I'd clearly grab a MH+HPS setup and make a grow closet, but again I've spent $0 so I'm having fun. Feel free to ask questions/make comments.
PEACE
