Right now i am trying to git rid of sum root aphids.I am growing in hydro flood and drain 4x4 cubes with rock wool slabs. I have used gonats to no avail did not even faze them, safer soap in a drench that kind of hit them a little but the bottle tells you not to do this more than once a month. Now i am going to use nematodes. I will keep you all posted on the progress.:wall::cuss:

I used the nematodes today after a good flush and the safe soap did a good job i did not see any at all. I added the nematodes by spray bottle and i added a cup full on each 4x4 cube. I think with the safe soap and the nematodes i got this. I spent 20 on the safe soap and 20 on the nematodes that is not bad when i could have had spent 170 on 5% pyrethrin insecticide. I will keep you all informed on the progress.

nematodes, like the round worm....?
where does one even find thiese, and hows it workin....?
ive used azamax, and neem, and bombs, and still the lil fuckers are hangin in there, the good new is the new ac unit is keeping the temps down witch has slowed there reproduction rate.
but i want them gone....now.....the round worms worked out...?
could you explain a lil more detail how its done....

thanks....

hi, I tried them and now I only have a few flyers and no crawlers this round, but not sure if they fixed the problem or any of the other many mixes I have tried in the last 2 months. I have an aero system. Check out my info maybe it will help. Please keep us posted.

I just watered with both types of nematodes i found at my local nursery, from what i have read online, they are capable of desrtoing any crawling bug, so im hoping for a good result, i mixed 2 packs of them into my 55gal rez. And i gave the ladies a real heavy water, gonna repeat this today, so i get plenty of coverage, i will post the results when i notice them, anybody with past or present info should do the same, thanks....

Stay green.,..

Hi eyeball, I'm not sure if predatory nematodes have any effect on root aphids at all or not. I have not seen them listed as a controlled pest on any nematode packaging or website (except cannabis websites). Their is some confusion at to what exactly root aphids are, which makes getting good info on killing or controlling them very difficult. i have heard a couple posts about ppl controlling them with bt products but these were posts from new growers with very low post counts so I assumed that they were misdiagnosing fungus gnats or spring-tails as root aphids. In my own experience bt, de and azamax had no effect whatsoever, except to cause the root aphids to disperse temporarily (further spreading the infestation).

I got them @ 1 year ago and what ended up working for me was a root dunk + spraying the whole area with a pyrethrum concentrate. I used evergreen, but the best deal i have found on pyrethrum concentrate (thanks to dbkick) is riptide from doyourownpestcontroll.com. its much cheaper than evergreen. hth and gl

btw you do realize that this post is 5 years old and the person you were asking is no longer active on this site right?

Sorry brining back an old thread I used search but Could not find info on this product specific to thrips and did not know if appropriate to start a new thread

I found two thrips. They flew off when I shaked the plant. A small flying insect that looked like a tiny fly and one larger one that kinda looks like a moth inside my cool tube and think it may be dead :). I'm worried about this developing in to a problem and going in to the third week of flowering on Monday so am not really wanting to spray anything as buds have started to show and develop and worried that doing so may damage them.

Would the product (nemasys brand nematodes- link below) work and is it safe. Thanks
