Predisposition to herm

Hello one and all! Friendly neighborhood desr here. I just had a question that i was hoping could get answer on from a breeder or someone with similar knowledge of seeds.

What would "genetically predispose" a seed to hermie (or to be more susceptible to hermie) ? Obviously theres parent genetics involved but is it just not enough stabilization of the strain when breeding? Or what are any factors that play into that?

Thanks errone.
Cause knowledge is power! Lol

It's mostly caused by low stress tolerance. If a seed came from hermie parents, it can inherit they're low stress tolerance genes, and will be more likely to hermie itself.

Stabilizing a strain has to do more with bringing down the number of phenos, to one. You can work on stabilizing a strain that is highly resistant to hermie'ing on you, but a strain can be stable and still hermie. It'll just hermie more consistently lol.

I already knew everything you said and none of it really pertained to my questions. Thanks though.

Like of course if the parent is a herm or just doesnt handle stress well. I get that... but there has to be some other causes..??

lets say everyone is complaining over in seed & strain about all the blahblah seed co. purple idiot herming...would the only two reasons they would be doing that (all herming) is because of parent genetics and low stress tolerance? Like theres no other factors? Obviously one can stress a plant to herm..but i mean before the seeds even popped..sorry if i came off rude!

Nothing is known, retaining monoecious characteristics is a survival trait that is plugged into the DNA replication "somehow" and can't be bred out....

If you could pinpoint some of it, you would be working on your phd dissertation....
