Fortunatly, i have more seeds then i know what to do with. I'm pretty apt at spotting and distinguishing male and female preflowers. This one was definitely male but nowhere near producing pollen. I've already planted a new seed and will let you know when it decides to pop up. I don't consider a plant turning up male as a grow gone bad. Every grow gives me a chance to learn and get better at every stage of growing. They were not feminized seeds and i pretty much expect half of them to turn up male anyway.
Males dont produce seeds, they get their pollen all over the females, like a money shot lol, and the females produce seeds. And yes, if you grow out a male in your flower room, the leftovers can pollinate future generations. That's why its best to pull a male early and to never breed in your flower room. I personally find breeding much more trouble then its worth, though there is no shortage of seeds around here.

Hello, How are you doing? Haven't talked to you in awhile , just wanted to see what's going on with your latest projects? Did you plant any new seeds? After you found out that your last try was a male? I just bought some neem oil for pest control but it also is supposed to make the plant stronger I guess and less prone to getting pests. It is pretty cool stuff I got the high percentage neem oil I guess the purest. It gives the plants a nice sheen and it feels like it has a cover on the leaves and stems like a wax, I guess you could say. I hope this works to keep the pests away because my plants are too big too keep in the place I keep them now and I need to plant them outside soon or the cfl's are not going to be enough. I have one 85 watt cfl full spectrum 6500K on each plant for vegging and after they go outside obviously I won't need them but I guess I am supposed to put the neem oil in the soil as well as on the plant to keep it covered. It says spray 3 times a month on each plant and deep soil penetration or soak till it comes out weep holes 2 times a month or every 14 days!!! it is called AzaMax Neem Oil. just wanted to know if you have heard of it even though you don't have pests problems but I think he said that you can spray it on hydroplants too to keep them more healthy and strong. Do you use this stuff? Anyway just wanted to see how you are doing and what's going on with your grows, if you are growing now!!!!! C-YA , BB2112!!! "Have a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!" Also enjoy your school break!!!!!!!

Sweet, I just planted my two plants (females) in the ground today, they were just to big for the house, they were about 25 inches tall and the other one was about 28 inches tall in the buckets but my friend found me some 10.5 gallon buckets and they were perfect for growing because they didn't taper from the top to the bottom and they were too heavy to lift them out and transplant so I just cut the bottom off of them and they slid right into the holes that I dug. They look the same as a 5 gal. bucket but they are taller and larger in diameter they are 24 inches tall and I think 14 inches in diameter or across. So I was able to keep them inside for a longer time before they grew out of the bucket . They probably could have gone another month but I figured with the botinacare pro grow they grew so fast and then with the neem oil they grew stronger and the stock or trucnk is already about 3/4 of an inch think so I didn't want them to get too big so I figured I better plant them outside and let them get on a regular schedule of natural light so they will start flowering . They will stretch and grow bigger before they start flowering correct? Once they start flowering then do I start using the Botinacare pro Bloom? or do i wait for a while? and also do I have to taper them off of the pro grow and then start them on the pro bloom? Or can I just stop one and start the other in a day? well I hope this seedling of yours turns out to be a FEMALE this time so you can get a grow here in between the seasons!!!! Good Luck, Happy Newyear and i hope that you have a great year this year. take care, BB2112!!!!! P.S. That Neem Oil is really awesome it makes the plants look so healthy and the leaves are so perfectly and it is like they have a protective sheild on them. I have already noticed that I don't have any chewed up leaves yet after spraying it before i put it in the ground i think also because it is so cold that i probably won't have as many pests as when i was growing in the heat of the summer here! So I may not get many bugs at all because it is about 50 to 60 out it was colder last week about 45 to 50 degrees so I hope that will help!!!!!!! C-YA, BB!!!

Hello, I just wanted to ask you a question about one of the two plants, I planted the two plants outside and they are growing nicely but in the last day or so, Well actually i planted one of them a week before the other, the one i planted a week before the other one is starting to get on the fan leaves (the really big leaves) in the center of the leaves it is starting to turn like a white or a silver like it is losing it's pigment. The leaves that get the most sun only the ones that get less sun are staying really green and nice. I don't know if it has to do with the sun and the neem oil or what or maybe it has to do with the fact that it has been colder lately than before and now it is warming up again but it never got below 50 or 55 degrees it just doesn't get that cold here. Do you know what causes this? it is like the outside edges are still green and the white or silver looking or loss of pigment is staying in the same shape as the leaves it is a jagged line ike the outside edge of the leaf but about 1/4 of an inch in the leaf is losing it's color or changing color and that is the plant that I cloned from the last one, so it never did that last time, on any of the plants out of the 6 I had last season. It doesn't look unhealthy it really strange kind of like some plants have different colors on the leaves this one is doing that but it's becoming the oposite of opague, it's turning white to clear, so I guess it looks kind of silver, Very strange, the leaves are not getting weak at the stem where they are growing out either they are not getting ready to fall off they are strong and healthy looking just losing their color on the inside the outside 1/4 of an inch is still green. I don't know what to think or do or even worry about it but that botinacare pro grow is making these plants gow would say twice as fast as before, these nutrients are great. the plant even looks healthier and more vibrant and the color is such a bright green and dark green for older leaves. pretty nice looking actually. well let me know what you think , Oh yeah the plant that i put out second or later doesn't have any of that pigment loss , so i dn't know what to think and i am treating them both with the same exact nutes and the same neem oil and both spraying them with neem oil and soil drenching with neem oil as the bottle says, always following the instructions!!!! Thank You, BB2112!!!!!

you can just switch from the grow nutes right to the bloom nutes. Id say about a week or so after you notice flowers forming. Im not really sure what the pigment loss could be, pics would help. The only thing i can think of is it might be a little bleaching from the sun. A spot here and there isnt going to do much harm.

I am replying to my last post about the pigment loss I guess the perfect or easiest way to explain what it looks like is if you know what those house plants called I think creeping chalies they have those leaves that are white in the center and green on the edges, i would say it looks a lot like that!!! so if you know what that is or what is causing this or if it is anything to worry about, you could write me back and let me know. I have never seen it before . I tried to explain it to the hydroponics store and they either didn't understand or didn't know what was causing it. so I know you are busy with school but if you get a chance and know anything that it could be , please let me know!!!! Thank You, BB2112!!!!! I would take a picture but my battery on my camera just went out and it has to be replaced not charged, it's toast! Take it easy, hope to hear from you soon. BB!!!

again, without seeing it id have no idea. are you noticing overall health of the plant to be suffering? is it on all the leaves or just a few, or on just new or old growth? has the plant started to preflower at all or is it still in veg?

No, The plant is very healthy and it is on the older fan leaves the really big leaves , bigger than my hands, I was just asking if their is a fungus or a sickness that a plant can get from too much of a product or too little. otherwise the plant is very healthy and has not started to flower yet. Infact the plant is very green and very healthy on the other leaves or newer growth leaves!! Thank You, BB2112!

I'd like to ask you another question as well!!! This plant that i bought the seed or got the seeds from someone it is a female but it is growing much different than my last plant. maybe i can explain and maybe it will sound familiar to you and you can tell me if it is growing normal and what strain it might be. I wasn't told i was told it was the same as my last plant but the plants are very healthy and at the top of the plant, that is still in the veg stage the pigment loss has pretty much gone away. but i just notice a funny thing or different i should say, the stems on the plants are (at the top) very thick like 3/8 of an inch thick, and it is growing different than my last plant instead of a very branchy bushy plant it is taller allready than my last plant about 4" tall and at the top of the stems and down the stems are like looms of smaller leaves and they look like a flower but they are just a mass of smaller leaves and down inside of those leaves are thoe white hairs that i just noticed today but they start out white and then as they get bigger they turn like a dark brown or dark gray or even black at the tips , not because they are drying up these are brand new sprouts of white hairs that are turning black or dark colored and some are white and these mass of smaller leaves look like kind of a daisy but out of pot leaves and then down the stems the same little like flower masses are growing and all the stems or colas are about 3/8 of an inch thick at the top and about a 1/2 an inch at the bottom and then they all connect at the bottom and the place where it goes into the ground is about 1 inch round and the leaves are huge the fan leaves bigger than my hands and have 9 finers instead of the last strain had only 7 fingers on each leaf or some had 5 and smaller ones 3 and so on. My hands are very big too, big enough to palm a basketball. like on my last plant the buds grew off of each branch this one is budding in bunches not like the long branches that start budding these are about 3 inches apart down the stems and on each side and like I said big clusters of small leaves and they don't grow into fan leaves they stay very close to the stems. do you understand what I am saying know pics would be awesome but my camera is screwed up i got sand in it and it won't work so i am having it cleaned out! I would appreciate it if you could help me out wih this I have never seen it grow like this before. but like i said the white hairs are turning black or there is a mixture of black and white ones!!! Thank You, BB2112!!!!

conditions determine what a plant looks like. in my experience, clones tend to be bushier then the mother plant and often grow quite differently. The preflowers could be turning color if you had cloned from a mature plant. A clone is the same age as the mother plant and you can only delay flowering for so long. How cold does it get outside?
Leaf morphology (for example the number of "fingers" per leaf) changes as the plant ages and with different growing conditions. I notice the first few weeks the leaflets go from 3 5 7 9 and 11 once it hits peak veg. As it matures, they decrease in number. Also, since this is a winter crop, these plants are getting less sunlight which will also effect how the leaves will look.

I have a confirmed female today

Actually the flowering that is going on looks alot like the plant in your middle picture but much busier in the center and just really stuffed full of small leaves and then the stalks or colas are very thick with one of those clusters on top and then all the way down the stems, stalks or colas. So they are about 4 inches in diameter and some are smaller and going to get the same size but they have those white hairs in the very center of the clusters and then it goes down about 4 inches or 3 inches and another top like your number 2 picture is coming out of the stems or colas and then on down the stem or colas. they are not looking like the last ones where they grew long and and fairly thick (kind of like a cat tail plant)like long buds these are looking like they will be shorter and much fater and much more dence. So I am getting my camera back and i will try to post some pics on monday night here about 9pm which will be 12 midnight for you or i will post them as early as possible on tuesday. Also to answer your question about the temps here it never gets below 50 here so no freezes or frosts maybe at best it may get some condensation on the leaves and they may have a frost on the leaves maybe once a month if that I haven't seen any frost on them this year so far. It has been pretty warm all winter mostly in the 60's or higher so pretty warm and kind of humid maybe but not like back east like in New York where i used to live it was 95 % humidity and 100 degrees out it was awful. here it nmaybe 70% humidity at most and maybe 70 degrees out or higher with hazy sun and then it turns to clear skies and no humidity. So I think it may be a different strain and maybe I mixed the plants up I doubt it but possible! I guess I will learn alot more this year as well and I have to say they look totally different the tops are just so thick that if it buds like last year it will have to grow alot taller so that they will thin out before budding but they are allready getting those THC sacs I forget what you called them, the ones that start out clear then go cloudy , then amber the longer you wait while flowering or ripening, trich something I forget you told me. those little ball sacs with the little stems that you can only see under magnification. they are starting to grow on the leaves on the center of these clusters a much dfferent way of flowering than last year but i guess there are alot of different flowering plants and i will find out soon enough it wasn't long after those things started showing up that they were ready for harvest. But I will wait a bit longer this time because with the neem oil I have absolutely no pests eating any leaves and it just makes the plant thicker and stronger and healthier. so mabye that has something to do with it. I am using the very purest neem oil you can buy , the one for pest control. and healthier plants. the whole plant has this plastic like now way the plant could be so perfect look unless it was grown indoors. it has really changed everything. as far as growth and health wise!!! Anyway take care and good luck with school and i will get you pics soon so you can check them out. I want to find out why it is doing what it is doing whether it is from the weather or if it is a different strain or because of the nutes and neem oil. well talk to you soon!!! Thank You very much for getting back to me so fast i was really hoping you would be able to say well that is a certain strain or that is because of a certain reason but Thanks, BB2112!!!!

They kind of look the clusters or the flowers that are coming out of the stalks or stems, or colas whatever as your number 2 picture that you sent on top except much thicker and much busier in the centerand then about 3 inches down another cluster is forming out of the stem and so on down the line. oh well Just wait for the photo's. C-YA! BB!!

Here are the pics the two at the end of the posts are the other plant and you can see the difference in the stem or colas thicknesses. let me know Thank You!!!! BB2112Picture 155.jpgPicture 158.jpgPicture 159.jpgPicture 162.jpgPicture 163.jpgPicture 165.jpgPicture 164.jpg
see how the tope are sticking way above the rest of the plant I will get some of them in the l;igt too tomorrow but also the size of the leaves where you see the leaves are bigger than my hand and the last 2 picts are the other plant much wider and shorter and the other taller and not as wide . Also the way the little clusters are forming out differently then last year. (hard to explain from these pics but I will try tomorrow and see if it shows the stuff i am talking about any clearer or better. Thanks!!!! BB2112!Picture 163.jpg

Here are the sun shots! It just seems that the one plant has alot more branching off and I treated them the same topped them both at the same time and the smaller plant is about 2 weeks younger but I don't think in 2 weeks it will look as bushy and full as the taller plant! It is so full and there are like 8 large branches that go straight up and dont branch off just have those cluster's that you see on the very top of each cola and then down the stems or colas. On t6he last harvest the buds were all the way down the colas and then grew together into one longer bud. These look much different like they are big clusters and they are going to be individual buds. I don't know but each top has one of those cluster's as you see on the close up of the cola sticking up above the rest of the plant and each of the long thick colas have a top like that and then the same smaller cluster's below them on down the stems or colas. So just wanted to know what you think and if you can I dentify the strain because the smaller plant you can see is more more branchy it isn't growing straight up either it is growing out and is bushier but shorter and the other plant is talller and thinner. I'm not worried that there is anything wrong with either I am just wondering what the difference could be , the cold the nutes and the neem oil or just the plants are a different strain? So just let me know if you have any thought or answers and Thank You for looking and answering back, Thank You, BB2112!!!!Picture 169.jpgPicture 171.jpgPicture 173.jpgPicture 174.jpgPicture 176.jpgPicture 170.jpg Oh Also you can see the one leaf in one of the pictures with the pigment change it is the one picture before the last picture, it is kind of white in the center with green around the edges and down the centers of the leaf! Is that normal. That was my only concern the rest was just wondering what was the reason for the differences if they are supposed to be the same strain but I think they are not the plant that is taller and has the large colas or thick colas is the one that was the seedling the other is the clone of the last years plant it looks more like last years plants now and the taller one looks very different! I have seen pictures of what that plant looks like in high times mag. with the individual buds instead of the ones that grow together and become one larger and longer bud. I have no idea how the taller plant will look when it flowers. which I think it is starting to do because of the trichomes, That was the word I was looking for last night the little clear sacs on the leaves that carry the THC!, the ones that eventually turn amber or cloudy as they progress! That is all, Thanks, BB2112!!!

Also, I wanted to ask you wen do I start giving the plant the bloom nutes rather than the veg nutes after I start seeing the tricholmes or much later? When I do I can just switch overnight? I don't have to mix the two nutes together and slowly change over? Thank You, BB2112!
Also on your pictures it looks like you are growing those in soil? is that right? do you start in soil then transferre them or did you just decide no0t to use the hydroponics this time. I don't know anything about growing hydroponically well I have had a few clases at the hydroponics but they were mostly classes on soil growth, you have a choice on what classes to go to and I went to the end of one hydroponics class but they were way passed the beggining of the process. well hope to hear from you soon take care, BB2112!!!!
