lol, but you never said they don't know if you bought seeds or dildo's missnu.. the heroin thing was nice though...

i keep seeing those ads for that new thing to swipe cc's for phones now, and i wonder wtf would use such a thing.. if you have legit business, wouldn't you not need to use your phone to collect payment?? lol.. been awhile since i've bought hard drugs, but i wonder if they take cc's now too, lol..
I figured it needed to be drug related to fit the bill..I forgot about secret dildo buying...All I know is that if the cc can see what we are buying then they think I am a freaking weirdo...lol.

On my last orders from the Tude I had to contact my cc company for them to authorize the purchase because they said the vendor I was purchasing from was flagged by their fraud dept. I'm thinking that if the attitude got flagged enough times, they opened an investigation into who the attitude is. Because regardless of whether it says attitude gift or attitude seeds if you type "attitude" into google the first link is usually for the seedbank. And I don't know what information they have access to, but the SagePay thing could be an easy way for them to identify them because the tude is the only online retailer I have used that uses SagePay.

Just speculation but one thing I can say for sure is that it seems like the Attitude is having problems with their payment system lately and this does not bode well for my confidence in them. Thankfully there are places like Seedbay that will hold your order until your money arrives via the mail. It takes a bit longer but don't have to deal with this hassle.

I don't get charged anything for making the purchase except for my purchase amount. I didn't always have to call, I've been ordering from them for several years and this began recently around the time they changed the prepaid card laws.

I have never had to authorize an international purchase with a cc co.

I have never had to authorize an international purchase with a cc co.

then your CC isnt doing their job....I travel to Germany/Europe every year and I have to call and tell my Discover Card I will be traveling abroad to allow foreign purchases ....they charge 3%

Normally you would have to authorize a foreign purchase atleast one time....they usually make a note on your account to allow purchases from a certain foreign businesses you have delt with

Perhaps traveling to a foreign country and making a purchase is not treated the same as making an international purchase online.

Which is kind of besides the point of this thread. Hopefully it was just this cc company and it doesn't happen to more people.

Credit card companies have changed their policies as of late, in particular with regards to international purchases. The best thing to do is to call your bank or card company ahead of time and tell them you would like to make an international purchase. You don't have to give any details, just tell them you are making an on line international purchase and you would like to ensure that your card does not have an international purchases block on it. We have a thread about this issue posted on our forum.

Another nice alternative to credit/debit cards is BitCoin, which I'm a big fan of. For anyone who is not familiar with BitCoin, check this out. Hope that helps.

When I receive my orders form The Attitude my customs receipt list the items as so:
1 t-shirt (or more if I order an extra shirt as well... I bet most of you never make it to the 'accessories part of the site-lol.)

My receipts from The Attitude will list my order (online, for me to see only) but when I get my credit card summary I get the same as you guys- "Attitude Gifts."

Apparently they're doing a good job of being discrete, I've never had a problem with a single order (except last time they shorted me a few seeds but they promised to replace them on my NEXT order IF I reminded them to (jerks.))

It sounds like phishing more than anything, The Attitude would not take that risk, that's why they list it as gifts... They are paranoid as hell about getting caught selling to an illegal grower. Like anyone actually buys pot seeds as souvenirs or collector items "in case laws change"!? Yea right, they know they're selling 99% of their seeds to illegal growers but they don't want trouble for it. See, even if they catch your seeds at customs (1st-2nd offense) they will just send you a "sorry" letter and keep your seeds- the seller is liable to get into more trouble than the addressee. I looked into all of this before I made my 1st purchase.

It's still kind of strange that the card company called like that, seems like a phisher wouldn't need to talk to you if they already had your credit information it seems like they'd go ahead and use it... Hmmm? Good luck either way man, I use a "MIO card" prepaid card, for any illegal purchases. I've had it for several years and they haven't even called to say hi, hahaha, I get my orders though. It's a smaller prepaid company that works through Visa; my buddy uses his student loan card (smart, right?) but he still has no problems ordering or receiving his gear.

Thanks for the heads up though man, be careful out there.

Ahhh it makes sense now for why they have such a strict screening process for who can buy seeds. And by that, I mean anyone who can fill out an order form and has money.

Picky fucks

Does The Attitude use this "BitCoin"?
It sounds pretty cool, but I'm quite loyal to the Attitude, they've never done me wrong. Plus the prices of the strains I want usually add up to about the same from all seed banks (price+shipping) but with the Attitude, I get the guaranteed shipping for $10 plus the shirt (which is worth more than 10 dollars alone.) I also use them because I feel like the bank that makes the most sales most likely has the freshest product (since they would need to restock more often.) Maybe, maybe not but this BitCoin thing sounds pretty cool anyways, from what I gather it's more or less a PayPal type thing?

What I mean is they use a lot of disclaimers (like those in SOME strain descriptions and all over the FAQ page), so they have a leg to stand on if some idiot gets caught with their gear. They want the illegal part of the market (and they got it) but they don't want legal trouble over it so they take precautions for that (as any smart person would.) I didn't say anything about their "screening process" (or lack of), you did. I'm sorry if I didn't word that exactly to your liking but nothing I said was untrue. I appreciate the sarcasm though; it's very useful & constructive! It's also the only way for a simple minded person to appear to have a sense of humor.

kiss-ass

If they weren't cautious about getting into trouble they never would have lasted this long, just look at what happened to Mark Emery. He wasn't as 'paranoid' I guess.

If you had read my post right originally you would know that I said: "They're paranoid as hell about getting caught selling to an illegal grower.." Maybe I should have clarified this for people such as you- They put the disclaimers all over their site, you agree not to break the law each time you order from them (whether U notice it or not), they state that they sell their items as "souvenirs"... Now before you bash me again- I said this to make a point (being: I don't think the Attitude is going to tell the CC companies who pay them that they're selling illegal goods, that would lose them $$ and possibly a customer.) I'm sure that's why they list my shit as "gift."

Neither Credit card companies or The Attitude give a flying shit about you or the laws you break. They want your money, if they can get it legally (through the law or any loophole that may exist.) If customs finds your seeds, you won't even be in trouble they'll just keep your order... I would assume that the Customs agents would throw legal trouble at you before a credit card company or seed bank would (especially since you're paying their bills.)) Why would you think a credit card company would get you into trouble if they didn't have to?

That's just like the geniuses who think that the electric company will turn them in if they use too much power, nope. The federal government requires them to report electric bills that are over 10,000 dollars only. Nobody here uses that much power, or anything close to it. If there's a 300% increase in your bill in 1 month time they will notify YOU just to make sure you knew about it/nobody is stealing your power. Other than that- the more electric you use, the better a customer you are to the power company. Not even a meter reader can turn you in if he notices your meter reading high, he will lose his job over the privacy act.

So: Nobody cares what kind of trouble you get in, they just don't want to get into trouble with you.

That's my point, use common sense folks.
