Here is my problem with Ron Paul. Like Obama he sounds great and he has gotten a very dedicated following but in the end he is a POLITICIAN. He'll turn over to win.
Unlike Obama, he's got a voting record that withstands the litmus test. He's voted against the Iraq Resolution. He's voted against Patriot I and II. He's voted against FISA. He's voted against increasing the Federal deficit to 9 trillion dollars.

Actions speak louder than words. It's quite simple really, most Obama supporters are quick to blame wiretaps and Patriot on Bush. It's those very same Obama supporters that turn a blind eye to how their candidate voted on said legislation and when presented with his voting record, I tend to hear "Sure, but...". Ron Paul doesn't have a chance but I will no longer be complcit in perpetuating a charade that will lead this country into continuing war (and yes, we'll still be at war w/ Obama in office for some time to come. He's just announced his desire to increase troop levels to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan) and continued rampant federal spending w/ a side of stripped individual freedoms.

Of course he did, what does he have to loose? Does he have a chance? No and if he did you would see a very different Ron Paul.

Fuck yeah he did! That's where we should have been in the first place.

That's why I say we need to clean house, for both Republicans and Democrats.

Here are the things liberals are generally for:

* Openness and accountability in government
* Equal rights for all, gay, straight, black, white, green, whatever
* Progressive taxation (the rich pay more, the poor pay less)
* Education available to all
* Protecting our environment so we don't fry from global warming
* When you retire, you should have some money so you can take care of yourself
* Everyone should get healthcare (if not, then might as well get rid of public schools too, same diff, intellectual health versus physical health)
* There should be regulatory controls so this housing mess doesn't occur again
* Alternative energy
* No privacy-intrusions without a warrant, for US citizens
* Habeas corpus rights for all
* No torture, period

Those all seem like pretty decent goals to me. I guess you see them differently with your conservative brain. Fear of change is a powerful thing.

Actually, it shows conservatives are single-minded, less adaptable, less accurate, with lower amounts of brain activity. The singlemindedness would make them better followers or soldiers, but worse as leaders. Leaders need to be adaptable and accurate and open to new ideas, and it probably helps if they have an active brain too.

I won't hold it against you conservatives though. Apparently you can't help it; you were born that way.

How bout this Bungeater......I'm a "dumb" conservative, and, your a "strong liberal"......you hound me and I'll hound you and we'll see who looks "dumber". Deal, "smart guy"?...... or would you prefer I just ***rimshot*** you when you sound like an idiot?

There are two basic Conservative brains: There is the one that loves war, money and hypocrisy. They are selfish, racist (for the most part yet they try to hide it by blaming everything racist on Al Sharpton), and short sighted (Global Warming anyone?).

Then there is the other Conservative brain, one that is uneducated, doesn't have money, has lost a family member in the war, is racist and really thinks that the rich Republican who laid them off so he could get an extra "0" at the end of his yearly bonus cares about the "common man".

Scary.

Here are the things liberals are generally for:

* Openness and accountability in government, like Harry Reid
* Equal rights for all, gay, straight, black, white, green, whatever, even illegals
* Progressive taxation (the rich pay more, the poor pay less), we'll start yesterday
* Education available to all, even illegals
* Protecting our environment so we don't fry from global warming, "can I have a sconce with that Frappacinno, two cubes of ice?"
* When you retire, you should have some money so you can take care of yourself, and if not, don't worry about it
* Everyone should get healthcare (if not, then might as well get rid of public schools too, same diff, intellectual health versus physical health), even illegals and those that don't want it
* There should be regulatory controls so this housing mess doesn't occur again, and government should again be the regulator
* Alternative energy, even if we have to go without
* No privacy-intrusions without a warrant, for US citizens, unless we say so
* Habeas corpus rights for all, even terrorists
* No torture, period, even for terrorists

Sounds like you're on to something......you should run for office.

Bongulator, I like hearing what you have to say but wow. Heres where we differ. Equal for ALL including whites, agreed. No favorites. Taxes should be fare. Everyone pays the same. You wanna make more... then do it (sorry, conservative way of thinking, you might not understand, keep waiting for the handouts). I love the environment and want to keep it clean but global warming is BS. Uh oh I said it! You will all here more about this later on this year. People should work hard and save their money or invest it so when they get old they can retire. No handouts. There should be no "free health care" Look at Canada and Europe. It sucks really bad for them and free health care is why. You don't want to lower standards when it comes to healthcare. And I believe that there needs to be torture. If you can save a whole city (100,000's of people) from getting one guy to talk no matter what.... ummm yes please. Other than those I feel we see eye to eye.... ;-)
