Preventative Maintenance for Root Rot

In a Nft system with a 15 gal. Tank, we add 5mL of Clorox bleach every other day to help prevent root rot. Now I have heard different things on this but what the correct dosage? At what level does Chorine become toxic?

when i use it, its only in a small cloner, and i use 8 drops per gallon...i know thats not very scientific, but thats actually the best answer i could find when i was looking for the info.
i use it every other day as well, and as far as i can tell it has no harmful effects at all at that level

i think you're doing fine, just add more, i actually tried to find this same info months ago, and the best i could find was 8 drops per gallon, i've tried more and less, less doesn't work, up to 16 drops per gallon works just fine for a few days, then i dropped back down to 8, it seems to work pretty well and as far as i can tell does no damage to the plants over extended periods

I always used h2o2 or hygrozyme when I did hydro. That was a almost a dozen years ago though. Id never put clorox in my res so not sure what to tell you there

then why do they sell metric tons of pool shock to people doing hydro? pool shock is bleach...doesn't matter if it comes in a bag or a white bottle, its the same thing
h202 looses effectiveness in hours, chlorine takes over 24 hours to dissipate.
