Grab a pair of binoculars and park right next to him and just stare at him until he gets pissed off. And grab a bottle of windex and clean his windshield every hour or so and ask for some spare change

also go to every house on the block and tell them about this guy.
Skuxx as got it right.......only I wouldnt watch him I would grab a lawn chair and pull it up close to his car and
Just sit there and every so often scream out.......I love jesus !

I have benches I put on my front walk way and when I took my dog out for a walk the other day an old lady was sitting on my bench.

It kinda put me off for a minute. I stammered and said how are you? lulz

Idk what that has to do with this.
it's an old lady collector, they come by once a week to find homes that need grandma's

A few thoughts:

1. Why would a PI need to report to the police? What are the police going to do if he is investigating without their consent? What exactly is illegal about what he is doing? All I can tell from the story so far is that he sat in his car on a public street. It doesn't even pass the "makes sense" test that he would have to report to the police about his investigation. What is he supposed to report anyway? "Hi, I am a private investigator. I am going to be investigating mr smith. I will be sitting in my car on a public street for hours on end and taking notes. You know, just in case you need to know that. Just in case you aren't busy dealing with crime right now, I thought maybe you would like to know that I am doing stuff that is not illegal. I might even do a google search on him." I can definitely envision scenarios where a PI will be accessing things where he needs clearance or LEO needs to know about him, but I seriously doubt you need to report to the police that you are going to sit in a car and watch someone.

2. He sounds like a terrible PI if he is just sitting in his car for hours and hours.

3. He was parked out on the street and not watching your house. Why did you have to wait for him to leave before you could relax and have sex? Don't you have curtains?

If he is there, it is not about a grow op... Undercover 5-0 or a CI would be doing that. 99% sure... Unless it is that someone paid him to get dirt on someone, possibly a spouse, etc.

See which area he is watching... Often times its the backward area they watch... Head rests block view of occupants from the rear, and they watch mirrors, not directly. Or through the back of a tinted window. If the front of his car is facing toward your place, chances are its a house/people that live someplace beyond the back of his vehicle, a few houses down typically. If you have double lane parking on your street, he would more than likely be on the opposite side of the street from the house he is watching...

Just by seeing how they are parked, and thinking like a CI would think, you will be able to narrow the window of what you think he is up to. If you can do it with no one watching, see if you can figure out the geometry of his rear and side view mirrors, they will more than likely all be pointed towards the same object, if they are, that is the target area.

Just for the simple fact that he told you he was a PI, I highly doubt its you or your family hes watching. He would have more than likely gave you a quick and easy lie. A quick perfect one would be that he was private security, and performing security watch for a person on the block that might be in danger.

But would a repo man sit in a chrysler 200?
I sat in worse doing repo's.. All the sales here were used cars year 2000+ I used the cars from the lot to do repo's with dealer plates and all..

Our car lot kept a key (clients knew) and if they missed a payment we took it and informed the P.D in case the car was reported stolen.. 80% of my repo's were done in the day at work or at home and the clients were aware of the lot's policy on getting the car back..
