I don't know about coco being "the best" . Hydrofarms with the expanded clay/hydroton is the only way I grow in water now and has been for the last 10 years. You can get adaptor "t" nipples for the bottom of the buckets to link them all together and put a small inline pump after the last bucket to be able to drain them out quickly. If you are looking for the most bang for the buck like you said its great because you can reuse the pellets after soaking them with a h2o2 solution and washing them clean in a trashcan.

For a best bang for the buck nutrient for the system try Super Natural, its a 1 part nute that works well and since its your 1st time it will be easy for you to use. When you switch to flower there is another 1 part that works well until the last few weeks when you can add some bud booster and or SWEET. Don't think for a second that since the buckets are square you can put them right next to each other unless you plan on going to flower when the plants are 8" tall.

A Tent that size would be perfect for 4 buckets that start flower at about 18" . Using those nutes you can expect to FILL that tent.

For light dont even mess with a MH bulb, I havent used one since the early 90s and my girls do better then fine. Once you turn the 1st batch maybe use some of your coin to get a 4'8 bulb T5 fixture. You can keep it 2" from your vegging plants and they do well with less power.

good luck to you! you will see that once your roots grow into the water the plants will go completely ape shit

I will definitely consider SuperNaturals! Hopefully I can swap and match from the package deals. From my research it seems if I stick with my schedule, wash hydroton and good common sense most of the major nute brands would work well. I was actually wondering which one of those "extra" nutes were worth it, like the ones people put during flowering to increase bud.

Does the T Adapter idea apply even if I am going to acquire a reservoir for the whole DWC?

The T adaptor works with the reserovir for sure. I run the Texas reservoir that they sell (its the big one) and instead of the top piece they sell it with I use a modified 55gal drum to hold more nutes because of the amount of buckets I run.

I will try to upload some pics of the fittings for you later its a really simple upgrade that will only cost about $25 including the inline pump.

For adders when I switch from Veg I use a product called Sweet Raw. Its a carb that makes the nugs tasty and "sweet" and I think the carbs help the whole process. 3 weeks from harvest I use cool bloom which finishes them nicely and its also a product that 1 container will last YEARS on your size setup.

LOL sorry, was so baked!

2) What else do you see me missing from the list since this is a purchase for a new setup? Do I need meters?

Also

6) Is Hydroton good grow media for a WaterFarm bucket setup? I heard people using Coco? Not really sure about this.

7) Should I get a secondary light? HPS 600W is recommended for the tent size

8 ) Do I have enough space in the tent. I am planning to grow as many WaterFarms in 1 tent. I am planning for 6 so far. Do I have enough mobility to grow more? I've never grown plants in a tent setup before.

Dimensions:

Setup: Secret Jardin Dark Room II DR120 II [Size is 120 x 120 cm]
Pot: 6x WaterFarm [Size is 31 cm x 31 cm]

Will I have enough mobility?
Frp, everything I have heard and read the new 600 watt hps Super bulbs put out just as many lumens as the 1000 watt. and since there not as hot you can ride the, closer to the plants, in far stretch is better, all around, I say Go with the 600 , Cheaper on Hydro , Safer from the pigs, and just as good if not, Better, for your plants.... I just sold a 1000 watt HPS and a 1000 watt MH just so I can get a good digital ballast with a 600 watt HPS

and for veg I have a smaller grow box. and one one side I hve a 250 watt MH and in the same cool chamber wired to it, on the same cycle, I have a 150 watt Equiv. and a 100 Watt Equiv. CFL bulbs. and its fucking blow these whores reallly well for the first few weeks before I put them in the flower room. ( with the 600 watt HPS and 3X100 watt Equiv. soft bright (the more yellow of the 2) oppose the the hard white I think it is , its more blue spectrum , The spectrum chart is on the box.) Where Nutes Rule! and Buds just Droooole!!!, In a good way!
