do u have a brand of nutes that u would suggest?
My only experience with nutes is in flowering and I use Canna Terra Flores and it helped me, but that's a UK-based company so not really viable for you. Hopefully your fellow americans have some more appropriate suggestions... sorry :(

guys the plant is not in a red solo cup. the plant is in a pot that prolly holds a lieter or more. its about 8 in deep and 6 in wide.with drainage.also what do u mean fill the plantpots with medium?
It's real simple. Fill the whole pot up with soil. A few inches of soil is not enough. Transplant it into a full pot. You'll get better growth and results. That cup of soil it's in has enough nutes for about 5 days at best. You can't grow much weed in a cup or two of medium no matter what nutes you use.

it's not rocket science brother.
"2-1-3 ratio (i.e. 6-3-9 or 12-6-18)" is what you want
you dont have to understand it, it will be lable on the nute pack itself!
for example this one here, it clearly lables the npk ratio is 2-1-6

and you said local which i dont know where you live and you also said walmart so i checked walmart for you and this one they have for sale
here is the link http://www.walmart.com/ip/General-Hydroponics-1-qt-Flora-Grow-Fertilizer/19684890?action=product_interest&action_type=image&placement_id=irs_middle&strategy=PWVUB&visitor_id=76784342378&category=0:5428:4091:1066864&client_guid=29d5c4f9-af13-4dd1-96b8-5d9701eac2e6&config_id=0&parent_item_id=19684917&guid=c43c3fa9-7c5a-4b96-86d0-5b636761c938&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&findingMethod=p13n

seriously though, just go check em out, any type is fine, just look for something writen with 2-1-3 npk ratio on it, or something similar, maybe the one i just showed you the 2-1-6 one.
and remember start with less amount than suggested on the bottle to avoid nute burn (tho its kinda hard to burn when they are having a deficiency atm)
just be careful and mindful!
Hope this helps.

If you're using organic soil I like to put live earthworms in the mix to keep the root ball aerated and release fertilizer in the soil. as long as your worms are alive you will have rich fertile soil.

Hey guys just picked up some Alaska fish fertilizer 5-1-1 ratio any advice of how much??
ok that's very heavy on Nitrogen and not so much Phosphorous or Potassium - definitely veg-oriented. Go with no more than half dosage what it says on the bottle and then observe ur plants over 2-3 days. Just 1 application of nutes then plain water until u think they might need more nutes...

Man where were you like an hr ago before I went to the store lol. Thats exactly what I needed to know. I knew that the ratio was on the bags but they didnt have a 2-1-3 so I didnt know what to get. They had pleanty of different ones but I looked up the organic alaska shit and one of the first things I saw was a riu post saying it was good so I went with that.

Yeah buddy, I like to put polished stones at the bottom for drainage/reservoir. and than put my soil/perlite mix with worms and throw that over the stones. Though I only put worms in when I transplant.

That sounds dope I really would like that when I have more seeds at disposal. Im assuming ur rusing bigger rocks for a better drainage? also the perlite doesnt bother the worms?
