FF Soil to use 1st is happy Frog, it is for seedlings and clones, it will feed a plant well over 7 days.
dont feed till you see a need 7-14 days.

FF Soil to use 2nd to transplant at about 1 month is Ocean Forest, both being organic OC is hotter than HF.
don't feed till you see a need 7-14 days.

Seedlings can be a strong enough strain for OF, but some strains need HF to start in.
It is safer to start with the Happy Frog, call and ask them.

this honestly sounds like a good idea but i still seem to believe it was the perlite just because my critical jack made it perfectly fine no burning from day 1 to day 13 , it was on day 13 that i added the perlite and also planted my blueberry seed with ffof and a layer of perlite , now what makes me beleive its the perlite is because why did my critical jack make it fine from day 1 to 13 with no perlite but my blueberry is burning at day 3 with the perlite (. if blueberry is burning at day 3 shouldnt have jack as well. shouldnt jack have burnt when it was younger not older.

Each strain is different, Tons of people use FF OF from beginning to end but I think they have prior experience using it on a certain strain.
It has also been said and I am not sure but FF On the East coast may not be exactly the same as FF OF on the West coast.
Not sure about that.

the ability of a substrate to be neutral at the beginning of use means you have control from the first moment of growth.
A short list of types of growing that don't use soil, Coco, hempy style, hydro of any type like DWC, Ebb n Flow, Drip irrigation etc.

I find soil slow and steady, feed every other day..
VS
my Ebb n Flow which I feed twice a day.

hydro is just quicker it's just a tiny bit more scientific and
I am No Rocket Scientist, lol.

I am a Noob and both my veg and flower are E n B and it runs easy.

Roots organic has a nutrient count but its low enough that the natural nutrients that are stored in the seed when mixed with the soil doesnt burn the plant, i usually end up feeding the plant a 5-1-1 after about the 4-5 node when it actually needs the soil mix re-nuted. It just works for me. But really youll find what works for you after this grow

i wish i could get a break down on how to get started into hydro , a lower maintenance set up to run 6 or so plants n id be into that lol

Hydro an dwc, you should get through a few soil grows from beginning to end before going that route

also just started cloning in a smaller "custom" dwc setup with neoprene inserts. i put the clone in the neoprene sponge, then place the sponge into a pre-drilled hole in my res lid (smaller res holds about a gal of distilled water with one drop superthrive and normal dose of Bvitamins and has a micro bubble airstone at the bottom); the bottom tip of the "snip" hangs below the sponge about an inch or so, right into the top of the bubbling water. getting roots in a few days; can be transplanted into any type of medium, or hydro system..

..from this point on I will hold back on the superthrive, and give only a half dose of Bvitamins. my "snips" had a slight nute burn on the tips; still good but slightly burnt

I hate growing with Fox Farm, or any amended soil for that matter. I guess I'm a control a control freak because I don't want to grow in anything that isn't inert. I generally use pro-mix, and the only thing I amend it with is worm castings (I usually add some more perlite to compensate for the fact that worm castings will cause some compaction of the mix). I can then add the exact amount of nutrients I need and adjust the PH to 5.8 or 5.9. I'm lucky that I can even use tap water here. Our water is about 110 ppm and works great with little or no Cal/Mag (unless I'm using coco). I have grown using many methods over the years, from cheap soil and Miracle Grow to aeroponics and DWC, and find that pro-mix or coco provides the most consistent results with smallest chance of problems. The bottom line is that I can always count on at least a solid pound, or more, per kw with no surprises when I use pro-mix.

I will gladly share, FF Ocean Forest is not a seedling or clone soil, FF Happy Frog is the soil for seedlings and clones.

If you start with HP for 1 month, you may need a little Nutes during the last two weeks, then transplant to OF.

Again OF probably has enough Nutes for over 10 days but your plant will tell you when to add food to you water.

I always add perlite, about 20% of my mix and I line the bottom of a pot with two inches of Hydroton for drainage.

i used the same formula for awhile (ffof mixed with fflw) also adding mother earth perlite, but i used it for drainage at the bottom (instead of hydroton). worked good.
