Problem with CAP Ebb & Gro

Ive never seen them with a sloped bottom , cool , wish they had them when I purchased mine,

I'm about 9 days into flower using smart pots in the ebb buckets. Working great so far.

This may be a real stupid ideal but would perhaps some kind of a root pruning paint help? I was really going to try a copper screen as well. My LPA has a 3.5" fine screen draining the tray and I get major root growth into lower res. the roots are basically unstoppable lol,
