Problem With Growth Outdoors.

I have 40 plants outdoors now. They are 2-3 inches tall now with single leaf on them still. They have completely stopped vegging the last few days. Could it be the temp fluctuating?

do they look healthy, if so, like buckyboy said, give them some time. patience is a virtue. Sometimes plants will be at a standstill for no reason and then bam, growth spurt. As long as they still look healthy, they are probably just building stronger root system before growing more.

they look perfectly healthy. They get great sunlight. But the temp has been dipping into the 40's at night and going up into the60's and 70's during the day.

If they look healthy and are getting good light then I wouldn't worry. They just need sometime to get established.

Ya allow them to "harden". Often you will notice a vegging growth spurt and then a rooting growth spurt, then once they reach the 16-18 inch mark they should start taking off like crazy. Don't forget to "pinch" them for max benefit.

If you have plants outside in March, they're going to go into flower immediately because of the light cycle (they're getting about 11 hrs light/13hrs dark at your Georgia latitude). Here's one tool you can use to calculate day length at your date and latitude.

I usually don't take the plants outside until the beginning of may, and that's after acclimating the plants to a 14/10 light cycle.

I agree. Even though you're in a part of the country where it's warm enough, I'd probably wait another month at least until the days are a little longer. I put mine out the 2nd week of may, but then again I live in the northeast. Nothing wrong with being eager, but think about it. Even if you vegged for a month and put outside May 1, that's going to be a 4 month (May, June, July +1 month veg inside) veg period before they flower.
