Hello, i just need some advice on sprouting my seeds, i have taken two approach. First approach, i put the seed in a cup with RO water and left it there for a day until the seed sink and transfer the seed to a wet napkin and ziplock bag, threw it in a warm area under my router (on 24/7). the seed never sprouted after 2 weeks. Second attempt, i put the seed directly into the wet soil, and still no sprout in 2 weeks, the soil was put into a frog tank with 95% humity. It has been pretty cold recently in Cali so i duno that might be cause of it. Any advice would be great. Thanks

i have try that approach, but no luck. about to try it again...with another 3 seeds. just wondering does it require sunlight, or would light affect it. because its very hard to keep it warm in this weather..been around 50-60 degree recently ..

50-60 = no no paper towel get it moist zip lock bag open put inbetween two plates and put in a WARM dark place or just a warm place has to be at least around 75-85f should sprout in 1-3 days sometimes it takes like a week

When i put seeds in water to germ them, i make sure the water is in a place that will remain warm-around 80. I used my hot water heater. When i took them out and put them in a paper towel, i sandwiched it between 2 paper plates and kept that in a warm area too. I did have to keep wetting it and all but 2 sprouted within 3 days.
Soaking and paper towel works great, but seeds can drown so dont keep them submerged for long. The wet paper towel in a zip lock bag, on top of your cable box or something that is warm works fine.
Seeds do not need light to germinate. Remember, they normally sprout underground, which is dark. Keep the seeds moist, dark, and warm and if they will sprout, they will sprout in less than a week.
