Well i was led to believe that an air bubble can form in the stem but i have to admit that i do not know for sure if this is science fact or science fiction.
Removing half of the leaf i was also led to believe would reduce the chance for rot etc. and also send the growth hormones in the plant down to the planted stem,i also have to admit that i have no proof of any of this so it may well be hogwash lol,but its what i do:leaf:
yeah... i think your technique is CLEAN...

I have always heard that the leaves are cut to prevent moisture loss...

either way.. I don't cut leaves or cut in water.. and I gotz great results...

BUT please don't take this as me saying your wrong.. cause that is not what I am saying... :)

Misting is not necessary, all this means is that the plant draws more water from the cube so you'll need to dunk them more often.

I mist once to twice a day, but then I do my clones 2ft from a 400w MH. Also they are shaded somewhat by my two mother plants.

My clones LOVE a good misting. Means I only need to dunk the clones once every 3 days too.

Once every morning, I take of the prop' lid, clean it. check the weight of the cubes, then give them a good misting with plain (usually quite old, anything up to 2 weeks) 6.0 water.

Not so long ago when I was on a commercial kick, I had a few people say that my clones were the best they had seen in years.

MISTER, signing out.

I also chop my leaves (meaning take bits off a whole), less leaf=less energy needed to stay upright while the clone concentrates on developing root.

It's also good to chop the leaf as this stops them hitting the walls of the prop'.

Nah i didnt take it at all paranoid,i really dont know if any of those things are true or not, they is just what i been taught,i think a lot of things you come across do turn out to be old wives tales,so im always open to new ideas and trying new techniques.:weed:

i never mist... unless I am using a wilt spray.... wilt spray on freshly cut and STUCK clones is awesome...

if i don't have access to wilt spray.. I go BUY it.. lol and if for some reason.. There is NO WILT spray I use a dome..

I always water the tray and let the rockwool cubes soak the water up.. I fill the tray so that 1/4 - /8 inch of the tray is full..... cloning percentage is near 100%.... for more than 10,000 clones :)

I use cloning gel and powder, whatever is cheaper and available... lghting is 43 watt CFLs..

roots show on average 5-7 days... sometime up to 20 days.. LOL

I watched a very very famous grower recently take 500 clones... and just lay them around for 20-30 minutes before he even stuck them into the rockwool... he also did not do the diagnol cut (follow me?) with eat individual clone... he grabbed like.. 20 clones at a time and did a diagnol razor cut on them.... and that was that... he said they were ready to go..

lol.... he's the man... but I still wouldn't do that

iloveyou...

nan , your cool!
