Problems with taking clones before sexual maturity.

Hey everyone.Ive searched all over the net, but cannot find an answer to my question.My mate has grown out a pack of female seeds into nice small bushes, and wants to take a clones to turn into a mother plants, before switching to flower.Problem is there getting too big for the space, and need to be flowered real soon.They have yet to pre-flower.If he were to take a clones now, before sexual maturity, will the clone still be able to grow into a strong healthy mother plant, that produces healthy fast growing clones? Or will it be stunted in some way?Have any of you noticed any loss of vigour in clones taken from plants that are yet to preflower?

He really wants the best possible mother plant he can get. Should he wait for a few more weeks till they preflower, to get his mom, and most likely have them get to big to flower out? Big issues!

hey!! if anything you letting ur plant veg that long and then taking clones is damn well good.. what you should do is just take one of ur plants and use that as ur cloning plant. well worth it in the long run..

Ya you shouldn't use clones as mothers, use a plant grown from seed. To select a mother take cuttings and induce flowering after roots develop, see which one develops more vigorously and healthy.(plants will have to be discarded afterward as they will be to weak to support big buds.)

you can take a clone anytime the plant is big enough to cut them off. Before sexual maturity is the optimum time, imo.
