Where the state aka the people hold a gun to unreasonable greed to make sure citizes have decent quality of life (clean air, clean water, affordable (collectivised/public non profit) roads, police, fireman, eletricity, water, state parks, fair labor practices and wages (workers rights) etc.) and the handshake is the rich elite capitalist hoarding all resources and depriving US citizens of all quality of life (see above) in the name of short term profits to be hoarded by the elite.
My point is that the government is the only tool the people have to defend themselves from them inherent flaws of capitalism and corruption.
A necessary evil right? Glass half-full, I think it can do some pretty damn great stuff if we the people are diligent to hold it accountable.
