Not when dealing with fueling itThe smell suggests incomplete combustion. Carbon monoxide liability.
I used to deal with it in ice shacks but it always was revolting

Not sure on readings but they've been selling the heaters and fuel for years now. Not something I'd want to burn but I've used one while i was building my house. It actually surprised me how clean burning it was. What are their CO readings? I hope they’re prudent enough to have them. Chronic CO poisoning does not present like the acute “kill you quick” poisoning. It can masquerade as other conditions.
Without quantity/time instrument records, I don’t believe they are safe. Any combustion regime that turns hydrocarbon into combustion products you can smell, I’ll bet money there is clinically detectable CO toxicity.
I’m assuming a smell in operation, not spill from fueling. Not when dealing with fueling it

I was at a campground once and a family w 2 or 3 kids was running a kerosene heater in a trailer w a built on enclosed room about as long as the trailer. Not sure what happened but they came out in the morning completely black with soot like completely as if they worked a coal mine all day and the inside wasn’t much better. They were alive and surprisingly they were unaffected and didn’t have a clue until the first woke up. Not sure that’s safe though lol it was a long time ago so things were undoubtedly different I’m sureLots of kerosene heaters ( using white kerosene) are used here in the Northeast by those who need to supplement in their homes. Not the best case scenario, but perfectly safe.
Yeah not safe LOL. I had seen this "ambient water temp" technique like decades ago and had completely forgotten it. Props for the reminder.you don't even need a heater...fill up 55 gallon jugs with water...paint them black...don't tell hank hill I said this but propane is a rip off...
Particularly that size. I wasn't planning to use them once I acquired a proper heater, which shall likely be in early Dec, because they add up. I thought I would go with the stove at present because I have it on hand. Those propane canisters will get spendy real quick.
I am looking at one of these in future (when I build a bigger greenhouse), precisely because it is specifically built for greenhouse growing.View attachment 5018581You would be much better off with one of these connected to a co2 controller. Amazon Link
Keep it mind propane puts out a crazy amount of moisture into the air ( for every gallon of propane burned almost a gallon of h20 is produced) Make sure to budget in a good ventilation/fan system.I am looking at one of these in future (when I build a bigger greenhouse), precisely because it is specifically built for greenhouse growing.
I am thinking of one intake and one exhaust inline fan at each end. Will that do for a 10 x 10 x 7 tent?Keep it mind propane puts out a crazy amount of moisture into the air ( for every gallon of propane burned almost a gallon of h20 is produced) Make sure to budget in a good ventilation/fan system.
once the temp drops below a certain temp in the rootzone the growing slows down a lotseriously, if the coldest it gets at night is 55, i wouldn't do shit, all that's going to do is bring out any natural colors in your buds. the residual heat trapped in your greenhouse should easily keep it warm enough to not even slow down growth at those temps...
pick your pots up off the ground, set them on 2x4s, and run the aforementioned oil filled heater on low...once the temp drops below a certain temp in the rootzone the growing slows down a lot
i wonder how much btu a little homemade olive oil lamp puts out or soybean oil lamp...smokeless and cheap and if yo knockover a olive oil lamp you wont catch yourself on fire lol..maybe light like 10 lamps or something lol idk how the smell would be
seriosly with propane you might have to refill it so many times the crackheads at walmart probably start starlking you wondering what you are using it for.
