protect plants from cold nights

what can i do to protect my plants from cold nights (2 - 6 degree c)
i have 4 hash plants in 1 in ground and the other 3 in 10 gallon buckets
i have them planted on a mountain side

if you can with the buckets move them in... otherwise tent the girls with a blanket.. it wont really keep them out of the cold.. but it will prevent the frost from nipping at them

^yep^ even just a sheet... It will help a lot! Just be sure to get out and remove the sheet/blanket or whatever ya use; as the sun gets up.

run an extension cord out to the grow and put a space heater on them. Just camo the heater so it dosent look suspicious :)

Thats a great idea!!! How much do you think 10 miles of extension cord might cost?? Plus I might need like 100 heaters to cover all the different sites through out the woods....Hmmmmm??? This might not work ha?? LMAO Just fucking with ya Budget...don't get hurt K..LOL

It was meant to be comical lol , I have the same problem with my guerrilla grow year after year and have just started using cold resistant strains for my outdoor grows. I'm not willing to place anything over them that would attract attention.

In the past I built a plastic tent over them and placed various layers of fresh green grass clippings and horse manure under the tent next to the plant. The composting action created enough heat to keep them warm and toasty. You can also use a couple five gal buckets and stuff them with green fresh grass clipping. REALLY COMPACT the hell out of the clippings as you place the clippings in the bucket. Place buckets under plant. They will give off enough heat if your tent is covering well.

Ive used a 50 gallon garbage bag in the past and it kept the frost off of the plants just fine, I do the same to my cucumber and tomato plants also.

ive got lots of horse manure. i should give that a try never really thought of using clippings and horse manure to produce heat.
right now i use nothing but horse manure to grow my plants

My first grow was 1976. Outlaw grow about 15 miles from my house. I had noticed my dads compost pile steaming one day and viola!!! Built tent and carried 4-5 buckets of my dads pile to my grow.

Frost isn't that big a deal for most pot plants. I grow at a couple sites in eastern ontario and have seen several frosts this september and the plants are none worse for it (crazy year for frost as every month other than august had at least a couple days where the words "risk of frost" where in the forecast). So far there have been 8 days that have seen temps drop below 0 deg C. in september and i only protected my plants on the two nights where the temp was forecast to hit -3. Hope you get them finished before real cold sets in.
