Pruning During Flowering.

I was wondering should I cut off some of the fan leaves during the flowering to let light to some other parts of the plant. I have one thats 6 weeks into flowering and its probably too late, but I did get 2 clones. For future reference I wanted to know should I trim the Far extended fan leaves or the short ones... Or even any at all. just a Noobie question and I searched and see many opinions just wanted to see what you guys had to say on the issue.
