Pruning

how do i know when to prune, my bro in law threw som seeds on the ground in my garden making a joke that next yr ull have ur own ,funny thing is now i do , there about 4 ft tall now they popped up out of the ground in mid june, anyways im affraid there going to get to big , i live on 2.5 acres but im surrounded by cow fields on all sides only family and friends come this way , but i dont want to be to obvious if someone were to show up i didnt know and trust , there in with my tomato plants , oh and how do i prune them any special place to cut ??

no prob sweetie, i wish i had pix... i've chopped three feet off a plant to let it bush back out before. as long as there are still nodes and branches, it will put back out.
