pfffft i think its bullshit, why do you think that guy got fired from his job for saying weed is safer than tobacco and alcohole? The most dangerous thing you can get from weed is a criminal record.

I beg to differ. Any drug carries risks and side effects, even cannabis. Will this study stop me from smoking? fuck no.

Is it just me or when dealing with britain is there a police state/ biase/ ignorance when they talk about weed? Its like the only strain they know is skunk and they only way they know how to use it is smoking it. Whenever I watch a british show on weed its always talking about "skunk" and the dangers of "potent marijuana"

Ive known one dude that acted kinda erratic from weed. He would get angry and moody and paranoid, while not on it. He didnt act like everyone else I knew including myself. I never understood it. Its like the reefer madness video was based on him. Do you guys know anyone that acts like that?

yeah i've met people like that. it's got nothing to do with the weed, though. it's the individual. it's like people who go postal when their cable goes out. cable withdrawal is not in any medical books that i'm aware of yet there they are with a louisville slugger making a scene in the lobby at comcast. some people just can't handle life. their triggers are basically irrelevant.

ever met anyone who acted like that even tho they didn't smoke weed? because i know a lot of ppl like that who have never touched weed. its called being bi-polar, so if you finally found one bipolar person who smokes i guess thats proof enough that weed causes mental illnesses right? at any rate that seems to be the basis of there study even tho they claim there trying to prove thats not the basis of it lol.

so they decide not to include ppl who have a history of mental illness in there study and by taking that measure they can say with certainty that anyone you develops any mental illness during the next 10 years was a direct effect of "skunk".

real scientific studies take random samples, they randomly divide into a minimum of 2 groups a control and an experiment, they create conditions as similar as possible to each other in both groups with the exception of the test variable. they then observe the specimens at multiple points during the experiment and take into account any changes in the environment, behavior, ect and decide whether it is a result of the test variable or the some other variable they did not account for in the experiment. when the experiment is finished (i would assume at the end of lives of the test subjects) they compile the data and analyze it to determine trends and generalizations that almost always differ somewhat from there hypothesis. unless of course they are "trying" to get the test to reflect a certain outcome, in which case they do exactly like these testers did.

I don't think they use the word "skunk" in the vernacular sense that we do. It's just their formal word for "high grade weed" or what we would call nug.

Heavy cannabis use has bad effects on a persons health, it's like anything in life..you have to moderate your use!

I whole heartedly agree that cannabis has a HUGE negative impact on people who are suffering from psychological problems.

If someone smokes weed, and suddenly they are suffering from schizophrenia, logic would dictate the cannabis was the cause of said schizophrenia...but I believe this isn't the case.

The problems are already there to begin with and Cannabis helps "unlock" them.

a new 10 year study has revealed psychosis, paranoia and anxiety amongst cannabis users...

There was an episode of The Nature of Things that dealt with the same subject. The way they put it was that there are certain people with a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia, and THC can trigger psychosis in these people. In other words, there isn't a causal link. It also went on to point out that Cannabidiol (CBD) shows potential as an anti-psychotic.

oh ok yea I actually remember reading high amounts of THC mixed with LOW ammounts of cbd are a bad combo for some people. I guess the higher cbd will like counter the high thc effect or something? You know what Im saying?

it is just stupid to search so hard to find something to blame on cannabis to validate prejudice... if anyone looked that hard to find out about the poisons in your food/cosmetics/cleaning products you would be disgusted.

I've been diagnosed with Bipolar 1 disorder. They claim I have had psychotic breaks that they attributed to marijuana. But I say it was the combo of Vyvanse and Marijuana that led me to my breakdowns. But really I just don't give a fuck. I stay full of holy dope whenever I can. Weed makes you think alot. something like that.
