Yah chewy has a point. I've never heard of anybody getting charged with a PI for marijuana.

The fact they charged him with anything makes me sick.

Stop talking to us and talk to a lawyer, accept nothing -- I wouldn't, I would want to know how I could get him completely out of this e.g. he wasn't even smoking weed. That is what you need to work on.

Sounds like a scared kid to me. You haven't even stated whether he actually had anything on him at the time? I'm assuming he would have been charged with possession had he actually been caught with anything. Jesus, just see a lawyer -- why do people automatically assume they have to accept something? Especially in the case of a minor?

Fuck'em, he wasn't even stoned and has never even seed weed, stupid cops scared him, he was acting cool, whatever -- something irks me ya'know?
Might I suggest you reread the thread. You have missed some aspects of this conversation.

And no, I am not going to try get him out of it. He fucked up and he needs to pay for it. I am not going to get a lawyer, he is guilty. He is going to take his punishment whatever it may be. The only support I am going to lend is if I feel that he is getting screwed over. Then and only then will I step in.

Tough love is what he is going to get.

man, just finished reading the rest of the thread, dont worry about your plant man, you probably like dude said be going to court for at LEAST a month, I was arrested with several felonies, and waited almost 2 years for the whole thing to settle, got off with civil disobedience :) but dude, they cant take what your son said as fact, because the law is unclear on weather peoples under the age of 16 can be used as witness' or anything like that, it would be incredibly dificult for them to be able to make anything happen from your sons statmenst.
as for going to school high... I started smoking at about 12, but was too scared to go to school high... but I became a better student when I started smoking :P... I would talk to him about what has happen, and though you may not aprove of himsmoking, I wouldnt tell him he can't I think that will just push him away, and hell do it anywaym, hel be pised that you smoke and wont let him... but tell him he CANT go to school high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats pretty much what I have already told both kids. I did not tell them they could or could not smoke, I left that open to their own interpretation. Just that they need to be smart if they are going to. And do it at home.

Thats exactly what he needs to learn, he apparently does not think I know what the hell I am talking about. So, now he can learn the hard way.

I hope it works out for him...

The best advice i'd give him about smoking before school, is that it's acceptable in college... but you gotta get there first

I don't want to fight, but I brought it upon myself and so I will keep it brief.

Your son knows you grow marijuana. He also knows it is against the law to do so.

--I'm further assuming your son thinks breaking a law is a bigger deal then breaking a rule set by his father.

Now then, your son sees you disregard laws set by people he sees as having more authority then you, but you expect that he would listen to you when you tell him he can't get high before/during school?

Further, you say he has actually fucked up by ignoring your rule. Wow, and what does he think his father has done by ignoring the Federal Government?

Well, if you handled this correctly he might think his father is right to ignore the Federal Government.

But no, your compounding the confusion by handing your responsibilities as a father over to the same people who's laws you don't abide.

So, instead of you dolling out the punishment -- not for being high -- but for disrespecting your rules (you have every right to be mad at that) you're going to let the people who you yourself disregard punish your son.

Now imagine being 13 and wrapping your mind around that.

You suck-

At 13, you wouldn't wrap your mind around that... Hell at my age im barely even understanding...

I think he's handling it best... Letting him get a taste of the justice system, so he will learn to oppose it correctly as we all now know. The government is corrupt, we all know... but his 13 yr old obviously isn't getting it... So let him learn for his own benefit

I think hes trying to teach his son that he needs to learn how to avoid the law. And the best way to do that is from experience. I know when my parents told me to be safe about smoking i just shrugged it off saying "im not dumb i know how to avoid getting caught". Then BAM i get caught, and my parents were saying we told you so. After getting caught i learned my lesson. Parents can give advice, but the law gives the full lesson. Atleast that was my case, and i know a few more people that would agree.

I'm sorry you guys think that. I disagree. Fight the law, never let them punish your children, especially for crimes you commit. :)
