By researching I believe males and females show their sex at the same time and you cull the males. What say you have an not so accessible grow and it's coming about that time. I assume you need around most days to check them? How long can a male and female (say they showed sex on the same day) be together before pollen damages the crop? How do you usually go about dealing with this if you're not living at your grow?
It depends on what strain you're growing, you may be lucky and growing a strain where the females or males show first. I have God Bud and with this strain the males show themselves a few days before the females thus making it really easy to cull them out. Otherwise you wanna make sure you check often, you've got about a week between when the plant first shows sex and when you have to start really worrying about pollination. I've never had issues inside the first week, but again every strain is different and I'm sure its just a matter of time
Generally people will tell you to get them out asap because they may be growing more mature plants as well in the same area. If you squeeze or brush up hard against one of the balls you can release pollen and ruin an almost mature plant. If all you plants are at the sexing stage you shouldn't have to worry too much that first week, to clarify.
